                1. Bigger screen
                2. Has Gorilla glass
                3. Has Android ICS out of the box (bigger chance of getting an update later than 4.1)
                4. Better CPU (Snapdragon vs. NovaThor)
                5. Provides 50 GB of cloud storage
                6. Better battery capacity (1750 mAh vs. 1320 mAh)

This is a Cortex A5, and while its not an old fashion processor core it is a budget core. Less cache is one of the things that makes this slower than A8/A9 in many applications, while in other things it can be quite fast. In general, A5 will get slow when things get hard, it will be VERY slow when things get rough. Plus, there is functionality for A5 that is OPTIONAL, meaning some instruction sets for for example multimedia handling may not be implemented.

You can run a Arm11 at 1GHz also, it still gonna be slower than an A8 at 400MHz. There is no such thing as "1ghz is enough", since it depends too heavily on the processor architecture, GHz numbers means nothing. 1GHz Krait is very fast, 1ghz A9 is fast, 1GHz A5 is.. less fast. 1GHz Arm11 is very slow. and so on.

Anonymous, 02 Oct 2012Thanks for your reply superdenz-215. what about HD games su... moreBecause of its fairly small screen compated to the typical 4.3" screens found on new Playstation certified handsets, its multitouch capacity only supports up to 2 fingers, and it only has a single core (though 1 Ghz is quite enough for phones of this class), it would run HD games in a below average quality (or may not even run them at all)

                            1. Bigger screen (4" vs 3.5")
                            2. microSD support (up to 32 GB)

                                1. Smaller width (ideal for single handed operation)
                                2. Bigger pixel density (resulting in crisper text)
                                3. Better camera features
                                4. Adobe Flash support
                                5. Bigger battery capacity (1750 vs 1500 mAh)
                                6. Cheaper

I'm really excited to see this phone sold in Singapore/Philippines. From it's 4" big screen to its great price, the Xperia J is bound to click on teenagers who want to experience their first Android smartphone.

It lets you play flash games on site without closing the site itself or opening it in another application. HTML5 is an improvement over the HTML internet support. What I can only say is that it could add better support to sites like flickr etc.
