Yes Guys This is true that this phone has many lags.Jelly Bean version is slow because of bad processor,but the last version of JB is very nice and works very nicely in Xperia J.One bad thing is that while playing walkman this phone have short breakes ,all over this is a gud phone. Try Nokia Lumia 520 in my opinion (Below 10,000)

I've had my phone since Christmas and I've been having problems since may time, my phone has been freezing and wont un-freeze for a good hour or so. I've been losing all my photos, and now they have just gone and won't come back and I've also just lost all my contacts which has never happened before. any help? and I would say its a good phone at first, but has big problems

Anonymous, 01 Jul 2013I have this phone since December 2012, i stil like the desi... moreif youre not on call and you stick the screen to your face and it dials,i think its normal since your cheeks is still skin of yours.but if youre on call and you stick the screen into your face and it dials,that was not normal i guess your proximity sensors are not functioning well.

I have this phone since December 2012, i stil like the design (shape,screen, the back, but in performance...not so much. For ex. now it's connected to my PC and i can't answer any calls,it won't allow me...another thing, when speaking, if i stick it to my face it enters my agenda and starts calling people...so i can dial with my cheek...camera? not great! i hate the way it goes on silence mode...i hate that so-called fingerprint friendly on the back side...It may look nice, but it's not a great phone...i'm disappointed!

If your are in Doha Qatar my advice Pls think twice before you buy any sony Phone cause the service is so very bad that then don't even have a outlet with sony accessories.I have tried very hard to get accessories to my new XPeria Phone but not a single outlet has any Sony accessories

You need to use method 2 to upgrade the Xperia J to 4.2.2.

Didn't really notice a difference. Maybe the proximity senor got a little better.

Xperia j is bad phone in this price range because of some big corns...
1-Very old or back dated processor cortex A5
2-low ram 512 mb.
3-Camera performance is not good fumble in focus.
4-Low internal memory because you didn't allow to move your apps to ext card thus very limited apps or not able to install big apps..

this phone design is elegant, the peformance not bad (just a little laggs but after upgrade.. laggs is more less), internet connection not bad( if you lost connection just turn off and turn on the mobile data)..
the only bad thing that this phone only has single core, so i think that is what makes this phone laggy..
