Hello guys!
I FOUND A SOLUTION FOR 4G SHUTTING OFF!
I live in Russia and my wife also faced such a problem with selfshutting if using 4g. We found that it happens when types of connection changes (4g to EDGE or EDGE to H+ or 4G to H+ etc).
We bought this phone for about 500$ so it is strange to use only EDGE.
I was looking for a solution and found that one mobile operator has no problem in M5 with 4G. It is MTS.
I found that it happens because different mobile operators work in different LTE MHz range.
- Megafon - 2530-2540 / 2650-2660
2575-2595
THIS IS THE WORST CHOICE. THE M5 SHUTS OFF EVERY TIME THE SIGNAL CHANGES WITH MEGAFON SIM!!!
- Beeline (Vympelkom) - 2550-2560 / 2670-2680
M5 shuts of also but it happens less than with Megafon.
- MTS - 2540-2550 / 2660-2670
2595-2615
NO PROBLEM WITH 4G (LTE). NEVER SHUTS OFF.
Now it is more than 2 month with new sim and we haven't faced with shutting off problem yet!
I don't know if it helps you in your country but some people wrote that had no problems and their friends too but other countries did have problems.
Try different mobile operators! Wrtie down your reviews! Guys from SONY can't help, shame on them!

Normally i could turn it on when ... moreI have had this problem with other Xperia phones, try to use emergency shutdown "button" it should be under the same cover as the SIM and SD card slots. It's a little hole and you must put a pin in it... if that doesn't work contact the seller for warranty repairs...

My phone always shutdown. Normally i could turn it on when connect to charger. But now it couldn't turn on at all. It's not even charging. I connected it to my power bank and the power bank's battery doesn't move at all even after i left it for one hour. What should i do? Any idea guys?

I have a replacement one. They said this phone is in third batch (random shutdown fixed) although they keep silent about the problem. Not so sure about it. The service is fine in Thailand. Have to wait and see. Anyone who want to buy this phone should check seller for this.

Though the phone is good, I face some issue with speaker sometimes. The mic doesn't work and sound output goes to earpiece rather than the speaker. So, I can't hear music or ringtone. When I restart the phone it becomes normal. It's v strange. I plan to take it to the service center.

I bought sony xperia m5 recently,and i am experiencing several problems exp 1) apps crashes frequently
2) battery drainout quickly
3) phone heatsup quickly
4) i cannot use camera for video recording
Later on i take it to the sony service centre,and software upgrade was done.But no use,I am still experiencing same issues,sony shold look in to the matter immediately before it becomes worse.And sony should recall xperia m5 phones and give us an opportunity to replace or upgrade to new phones.

I have a Sony Xperia M5 and I haven't any problems with it at all, it's an excellent phone recommend it over Samsung. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the phone. I got mine on contract for a really good price but I think it's way worth the initial price tag.

Anyways this would have been a perfect midrange phone if not for the issues encountered by users. I hope they release a formal statement and a fix to clear the worries of potential buyers.
