the problem of auto shut down cannot be fixed. take it back to Sony, and they will not give refund. They will keep saying it is some apps you have downloaded which is unacceptable as I have been using the same apps for all my previous phones. Report to your countries ' Consumer Council and MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT BUY SONY PRODUCTS EVER AGAIN!

ann, 25 Oct 2015i also have the same problem... it shut off then i cant tur... morePlug into your charger. Then switch it on. GSM and WiFi is the only fix currently. I have send my phone for servicing. Will update here if it fix the problem

I'm really serious about buying this phone but I am concerned about the shutting down issue...Those who experienced it, from which country are you? I am from South Africa and I would like to figure out whether i might get a faulty device here as well. I'm also looking at huawei P8 lite but i like the camera and others specs of m5. Any advice?

I bought Xperia M5 from Reliance Digital, Gurgaon. The product was a defective piece as its camera was not working and it was a manufacturing issue. So I returned the phone. I have heard so much of the M5 manufacturing defects. Will not go for another Sony product now.

I would like to upgrade to a higher model plus add some money .if they don't agree,i will also make the complaint to the hongkong trade council. My first ever sony product, and i was disappointed ! lots of bugs, the camera performance isn't good enough as i expect, it doesn't even looks like a 21 mega pixel camera. And the biggest problem, shutdown! The phone design looks nice, but not the camera and battery, hope Sony can fix it and please don't disappoint your fans.

i am a owner of the xperia m5 dual - bought in hong kong around 3 weeks ago. experienced shutdown issues like everyone else - switched to gsm mode and it didnt switch off for a couple of days. however, when i switched back to lte, it shut off and no power source is turning it on. there's only a red light at the top left corner and i've tried everything but nothing is turning the screen back on. what to do?? please help.

I am victim of M5 shutdown and some buggy issues too...very disappointed with this phone as a loyal fun of Sony since classic Xperia Z,which is amazing. I visited Sony service centre but they replyed me that thinking about exchanging new M5 handset..I already know this is not the solution. How can I get refund ?or what about upgrading to Z series(Z2/Z3) with this M5 from Sony officials. Feeling sorry for all M5 users..
