1 - They often heat up quite fast
2 - Due to problem 1, they tend to shutdown apps to reduce the heat
3 - Right now, if you bought the early batch of Xperia M5, most of them have hardware defects that make them autoshutdown
Solution :
1 - Always check the task manager to shutdown running apps on background to reduce the processor and RAM usage thus reducing heat and make the phone a bit faster
2 - Just do solution 1 cause it's related
3 - Plug in to charger to 'jumpstart' the phone and some people on the net said that you need to use 3G instead of 4G cause the loss of 4G signal is causing the phone to autoshutdown

If not, try to update the software.

I got a Sony Xperia M5 few days ago. Most problem phone is heating after 15minutes use net with WiFi. Shortcut my problems.

Hi guys
I have got Sony m5 a month ago I'm having problem with the phone it switches off automatically n won't start until the charger is connected to it also the battery gets drained pretty fast even if the phone is in stand by anyone plz help me out with this

I had been using this phone for just couple of days. I had rev 2.0 and it is an awesome phone. The only problem i had been thnking is with over usage its battery temp goes up to i think 40C. But no auto shutdown problem or anything else. Also enough battery capacity.

Coz mine too is experiencing ASD issues when on 3G or 4G. Did you also bring the box or just the unit itself?. Thank you!

I e... morewhy dont you try to go to PASIG KAPITOLYO to have it replace so you wont suffer from the asd issue,i believe that its not a software issue so it wont be solve by any update, and if you have purchase it in any authorize sony store and you still have the complete package with your receipt then by all means have it replace. Money doesnt grow on tress :)

i have this phone as well, replace it 2 times here in the Philippines and this time a got a replacement unit from Kapitolyo SEALED and with a GREEN DOT like STICKER at the side of the box, some of my fellow m5 user here said that this specific replacement has NO ISSUE at all, and upon using my unit for a month now I dont experience the Auto Shut Down issue anymore when using my LTE data connection .Maybe this new replacement is better now.

Cheap quality phone
I bought M5 dual in last November. Within 6 months it got complaints like 1) waterproof proof fixed back cover opened 2) over heating 3) camera automatically shut down when phone get hot.. I gave it to service center, Now they told me it have 2 more complaints like battery got damaged and one internal part should be changed... Total 5 complaints :-(, Also bad customer support from Sony, l sent 2 mails to them, one to customer support in their website 6 days ago , second to servicehead@ap.sony.com 3 days ago .... But until now no response from their side... So my humble request to all, Plz don't buy this phone..
