AnonD-109040, 05 Apr 2013Oops it's Xperia LYea, L is way better, with Arc design, card slot, more capable cpu and gpu, display is bigger but lower res, better cam, and will get future updates, key lime pie is to be expected, battery should also be better.
Those who can't live with the display resolution of the L should look at Xperia SP.

Whats he process of upgrading this device to jelly bean ? I tried updating through sony website; it's updated but still is ice cream sandwich..........:(

how to stop a download in xperia P? it has been 24hrs but still its showing in notifications that the app is being dowloaded. there has been no prgorss in download although the app is of 9mb only. plz help

Anonymous, 05 Apr 2013what if the phone has HDR technology?High Dynamic Range or HDR is a tech that gives real life like photos. You must have noticed this peculiar effect when the brightness goes very low when the bright sky is visible behind the object making it all black or if focused well on the object, the sky becomes too bright. Its all because of the automatic exposure changing ability of the device. To solve this, the cameras with HDR take three photos in low, medium and high exposures and then mix them together to give perfect lighting. The catch here is that the three photos needs to be taken very fast else blur will occur. High end smartphones now do have this feature but it's not as effective as those available in dSLR cameras.
On Xperia P it's not possible. Besides noise in photos are directly affected by the phone's camera aperture, exposure and shutter speed. It's almost impossible to increase camera aperture (the hole through which light passes) because that will call for bigger lens, else light won't focus well onto the sensor. Since natural light is limited, the phone try to increase the brightness digitally. This is called exposure manipulation. It's value is measured in ISO. Shutter speed is what decides how still a photo can be captured. Higher speed means even a high speed object won't show blur. But high speed calls for higher amount of light to pass through the lens (i.e bigger aperture). Since bigger aperture is not possible, the exposure instead is increased. This leads to worse photos (blown out details, noise, etc). The quicker the shutter closes, lesser the light passes. But if the shutter speed is decreases to allow more light to pass, photos tend to blur (by shaky hands). This effect is highly prominent at night time photos. Everything is against the phone's camera. Since the phone can't change aperture value (since it's a fixed hardware, plus the aperture-lens size relation I told above), hence the exposure and shutter speeds are manipulated instead. Which in turn makes photo either blurry or noisy or both.
So dont blame manufacturers that they make crappy cameras..... cause they have no way to make it better. But when they do manage (like what Nokia did with pureview 808), it's something to appreciate from the bottom of the heart.

I am user of Xperia p. Silver one. Bought on November and I am fully satisfied with it. Design is good with aluminum premium fell.good and great to watch hd and also 1080p videos.camera quality is just eye popping.sd card storage is not a problem to me because otg cable will support on it and u can watch ur fav movies through 8gb flash drive. It has hdmi slot to connect to hd tv that really great. battery is good it gives. 5 hrs of movie watching so u can watch 2 movies he he... U can watch in any light conditions means in bright sunlight. It can play every high end graphics game like nova 3, tintin, modern com 4 etc. Xperia p fells like high end phones believe me.My father is giving me Xperia Z and give my Xperia p. My dad like Xperia p because of its medium size that fits in his hand. 2013 will the year of Sony Xperiaians.best of Sony in a SMARTPHONE.good line by the way.

frnds plz help....my fone's image quality is very bad compared to the ones shown as sample photos in internet or d ones who hav uploaded any pics taken frm it......i donno d reason ...the pics are highly pixalated and are sort of grainy ..they luk like taken frm vga cam........pics appears awesome when seen through phone but once seen thru pc it wil luk as d above mentioned way....even full hd videos to....recorded nd played by phone is gud but not gud when seen thru pc...... my brothers e5 takes brilliant pics even though itz 5mp so I guess sonys 8mp hav more potential nd theres sme error in my phone....ny one with similar case???? .....(note: I hav alrdy repaired my firmware but no use)........nd by d way ....phone is mindblowing ;-)
