There is no real solution for this problem. I usually activate 2G instead of 3G, and STAMINA whenever possible (almost 10h of intensive use)

I have also bought an external battery of 5600 mAh. It works fine.

Mahesh, 13 Feb 2014Battery of xperia p is contineously disscharge,4 to 5 times... moreBattery cannot be upgraded (if by upgrade you think of installing higher capacity battery) because of limited space inside Xperia P, but you can replace existing battery (if you are sure it's faulty) with new one, in Sony Repair Center, or by yourself if you have enough confidence.

But before that, I suggest you to do System Repair with fresh OS install, proper battery charge cycle, and uninstallation of all programs you installed from PlayStore, to check if your battery is really faulty.

If you have incorrectly calibrated battery, with all communications constantly on (WiFi, 3G, BT, NFC) and lots of installed programs that work in background, your battery might be OK, but your phone is never going to DeepSleep, and is drained in couple of hours.

Anonymous, 09 Feb 2014worst phone ever!!!!! why sony cannot update it's phone wit... moreIf you want OTA Updates so badly why don't you go buy Apple iPhone and stop whining here?! :-)

Sony is far from ideal company (like any other) but glitchy OTA Update is far from making it 'worst company'.

And beside, Update is a feature that you might used only for 4-5 times in these three years Xperia P exist, I am sure there are features you use much much more then this one you complaining about.

AnonD-231836, 09 Feb 2014is there(xperia p) a function of a scratch resistant glass?... moreXperia P have scratch resistant glass (Gorilla or Dragontrail) according to the info one of the gsmarena commenter received from Sony, but they are not advertising it so obviously. Dunno why, don't ask me.

Anyway, on top of the glass there is shutter-proof foil protection (hard surface materials are known for their rigidity and are prone to shattering when smashed) which is made of plastic (after all, it's called foil), and if you try to scratch your Xperia P glass you will surely damage the foil, although the glass itself might not be scratched.

Beware, 'scratch resistant' doesn't mean 'scratch proof', and eventually you might see some scratches on the screen of any smartphone, it's not there to be tested, but to protect your screen from everyday abuse (normal glass would develop too many scratches in short time).

AnonD-92902, 10 Feb 2014What does rooting the phone means?Rooting is name of the procedure that gives you full access to your smartphone resources (equivalent of Administrator rights on Linux or Windows OS). Term "rooting" came from term 'root' which designate 'Administrator' on Linux OS.

Usually all smartphones comes with standard 'user' rights, because of two important things; first it prevents user to accidentally mess up system files (and render phone unusable), and second, it prevents malicious programs to alter system data and expand to other devices.

But for an advanced user who knows what he is doing, and is willing to accept the risk (which is minimal compared to benefits), 'rooting' gives possibility to install system programs like firewalls, CPU-control etc., and also to install non-factory ROM (custom ROM-s 'cooked' by enthusiasts) getting better performance or new functionality from your smartphone.

Current firmware works much better, and you need to perform System Repair to sort out some problems (or just Factory reset your phone and do clean install.

Alternative is to install Honami MoonWalker v 8.0 (rooting and CWM Recovery is mandatory, but easy to perform even for newbies, all you need is to follow instructions on xda-devolpers forum.
