Second, the file system needs to be one that the phone understands. Default is Fat32. In case you want to use others like Ntfs, Hfs, exFat etc then download 'Paragon NTFS' app from here,

As for the power consumption error fix you gotta force the phone to open it. Needs root access. Here is how,
1. install terminal emulator -> https://play.google.com/store/
apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm
2. plug in your usb flash disk, then type:
su (press enter)
echo -n 1 > /sys/bus/usb/devices/1-1/bConfigurationValue
(press enter again....done).
Now your device can open ANY pendrive.

> I w... moreSince JB update is just released, it is likely that shops still have ICS version (or even GB if there are old stocks somewhere) but update is not a problem (if its available) just 30 minutes of work (mostly waiting).
It should work for a day on that usage pattern.
