Android use more the Dualcore processor than what SGS3 Quadcore has.

Don't talk about things you don't know about it please!!

This is not even better than the One X, so how can you say that? Screen isn't just about sharpness. It's about contrast, colour saturation, viewing angles, respond time, etc. You can say the original presets of S3 Super AMOLED is oversaturated, but if you don't like it, you can always switch to the natural, or movie mode. And also, S3 touchscreen is VERY RESPONSIVE, the home button might a little bit slow, but the menu and back button is definitely much more responsive than Xperia S's 3 dots.

Now speaking of audio. Yes I that music player is great. But the bass is still weak. Ut's definitely NOT ON PAR with the iPhone 4s. Okay well, I hate Apple, I don't hate Sony (actually I like them), but this one isn't better for sure. Noise is still visible when you're playing a quiet song (usually the first part of the song). And xLOUD isn't working with earphones/headphones/ext.speaker.

No hate here, but just say'in.. Actually this is great, but slow processor, that's the biggest matter. That's why this isn't better than the One S.

Allright folks, i got my hands on this beauty, after year and half of using my old samsung 551.

This review is long, if you want a score, id say 9,2 out of 10, only because i would have loved a 2200 mha battery, and a sd slot, but honestly its not needed.

Let me start by telling you the screen is amazing, was the first thing that impressed me from this phone. I've seen the S3 screen from my colleagues quite a bit of time, and galaxy note as well, were by far the 2 screens that i loved the most among the phones i knew, i also knew iphone 4s from my gf, however i discard inmediatelly anything that holds an apple as icon. This being said, Xperia S blows hand down all the other screens in resolution, light emission and clarity, it DOES give you the feel of a Bravia TV hands down, i comprared the youtube vids on HD on a S3 and Xperia S and certainly the Xperia S blows away on that end.

The processor handles the ICS and most of applications without any issue, the Gig ram also has no issues with handling any game or application out of the market today. However in this department i am well aware by benchmarking it and testing against my colleagues S3 that even tho, my browser response time is a bit faster than his, the multitasking part might be a bit faster on his, as well as since the S3 touch screen on the home button is easier to push (the home, back and setting button on Xperia S seems to be a bit picky, kinda you've have to push it exactly on the little dot, however it does have better response on the screen than the S3).

                  Ok now the fun stuff...

This device comes with a lot of Sony applications which makes you feel like the old w810 which was an amazing phone by the way.

First the ICS features like feeds, clock, weather by default, and other amazing things that you can put easily on the screen and looks sharp and profesional styled.

Media player and Sony bravia engine and TV adaptor.
I said the screen is amazing did i? well there is a good and a bad point, yes the phone screen is amazing, and it comes with a function when you connect the HDMI to the TV where you can use your remote control to controll the Phone, good thing is you do not need to connect the phone to an external power source to use the HDMI although it will use battery of course. The interface of the phone is very polished and intuitive, as well as thought of the bravia tvs, basically the interface is quite like a Media center to use when you connect it to your TV, good sony good, more companys should think about this. Now the bad part is that the resolution on the TV is not that good, for some reazon the TV does recognize the 1280x720 resolution, but even so the flash are not well taken or displayed, not so the standar mp4 and youtube, those are displayed perfectly, i think its a codec issue, but i had to post it.

Now to finish up the thing that blew me over of the Xperia S.
THE SOUND, i am a retardedly obsesed auidiofile.

Let me tell you this, first the embeded speaker is amazingly LOUD and clear, its on par with the iphone 4s or better, the applications are also excedingly good, "sense me" organizes your music accordingly to standar moods, and often hits the spot quite well. The sony walkman player is a very nice addition to this phone, contrary to most of the beliefs, the ICS version of Sony comes with flac built-in decoder, hell even reads my m4a itunes without issues.

When i bought this phone i saw somewhere that Xperia S came with "Sony 3D surround sound audio technology", even tho GSMarena does not put it, its right there on the phone. Well at first i thought, meh another software based crappy sound application. Well i forgot this is Sony and the walkman flag comes with it, the player itself comes with a pre-programed 5 bands equalizer, and clear bass technology, the first thing i did was enable/disable and there is a great difference between them, think about srs wow with crystal clear and low phase noice reduction, its simply brilliant. Now remember the "Sony 3D surround sound audio technology" was time to play with it, my earbuds were some cheap sony bass booster ones. it comes with "Concert Hall, Studio, and club" the difference between them its quite marked and does make a virtual positioning but softly, without the normal issues of the typical software applications (not sure if is hardware embded or software, but does the work remarkably). Now it also comes with the xLoud option, which is basically a treeble enhacer with a db enhacement option with a nice filter as well, but its not really needed with all the rest, but a nice feature as well.

With all those i had to get new headphones had i!? so i got myself a nice couple of Monster Turbine, if the sound was already ridiculously good on my cheap sony earbuds was about to get out of the world with those, and it did, the sound is something that i can say will keep me with this phone for a LONG time, the xLoud feature started to be quite noticeable with the new earbuds, the 3D started to be even more envolvent and clear as the background noice got blocked, never the less the bass were even stronger and some electronic pieces and heavy stereo were sounding like in a profecional studio.

Well guys, this is pretty much what i can say about the Xperia S, i was about to get the S3 due the screen being amoled, i had my doubts on the backlight-led wich is basically an lcd enhaced with a back led, but nop, i was wrong, sony knows what's doing and in all honestly did a piece of art with this phone. I'm loving it.

Tip* Now this is an info that i would like to knew beforehand, sony has blocked the bootloader of some of this devices by request of the companies, however not all of them are blocked. Even tho now there are methods to root it locked/unlocked i would recommend acquiring the unlocked version as its fairly simply to modify/update, either way both devices are pushed by sony to ICS 4.0.4 and eventually 4.1.

Great phone, battery life is the only disappointment but taking into account my use of the internet services and gaming it is understandable. Data use is rather extensive but there are settings on the phone to limit your use as well as to deactivate data roaming. You can take amazing photos and videos with this phone. I have compared the photo quality to that of the iphone and it is far superior. The applications that are available for free are great and the applcations that are for sale are affordable compared to the iphone. The touch screen is very sensitive but easy to type and can be adjusted by turning the phone onto its side when texting, this helps with people who struggle to type on small touch screen icons. Shortcuts are so easy to create and accessible. The phone is light and an attractive device. I am truly satisfied with my purchase!
