just bought the phone second hand and was wondering about battery charging time... realize a phone with these specs your only gunna get a days use out of it but it takes me a good 4 or so hours from about 2% battery to full charge....
does this sound about right or u guys think there may be an issue with the battery??

Ow ok, but in my case it works fine, but still be observant of the things that will work best for your XS, and the task background is a good idea specially to those apps or games that doesn't have the "exit game" command. Even though I always thought it was like an SOP when creating apps or games. hahaha. Now I know why ION's battery was increased or maybe it has something to do with external SD card. Hey any specific app for the task background app killer?

AnonD-42603, 19 Jul 2012just bought the phone the other week, updated it to ICS, so... moreRestart process eats up huge battery juices. So it's not a good idea to restart phone everyday to conserve battery. Not at all. You can install auto background task killer app like "ram booster pro" to conserve battery.

just bought the phone the other week, updated it to ICS, so far everything is fine. The real challenge is the battery though. I really can't complain because with a display this good battery will discharge faster. I am just really trying to find a way to make the battery last for more than a day. Here is what I do

          1. Turn of bravia engine when really not needed.
          2. maintain brightness to 50% and backlight off.
          3. Turn off bluetooth and GPS when not needed.
          4. Those vibrate on touch can be disabled.
          5. Lower the screen time out to a minute or below.
          6. Data and Wifi off when not needed.
          7. Restart the phone at least once each day.
          8. Remove unnecessary widgets.
          9. Use simple wallpapers not animated ones.

You can do some of this at the same time using the power saver function or using the xperia tags

Hi All, I am going to buy this phone. Need few clarifications.
            1. As for all phone users, the speed of the phone is very important to me. Like any phone user, I hate waiting for ages to open an application. In terms of speed, how is this Phone's performance? Copmared to Samnung Galexy S 3 or Apple 4S, how is the speed?

            2. I want to get the phone upgraded to Android 4. Is this a good move? Are there any risks? Does it impact any functionalities of the phone badly?

            Than you very much,
            Warm Reagrds,
            Sachith

Anyone who has encountered some lags on opening the apps. after ICS 4.0.4 update can overcome the problem by downloading some applications from the playstore. One app. called "Dialer one" from the playstore will open the phone dialer app. in a sec rather than having to wait for 3 seconds after the ICS update. Also, I download a launcher called Android 4 ICS launcher. This launcher resembles the Google stock ICS 4 launcher very much except that the icons used are still the Sony's own icons. However, this launcher greatly improved the scrolling experience of the Sony's ICS launcher after the ICS 4.04 update. Anybody encountered the lagging experience after the android 4 ICS update may overcome this laggy problem this way before the next software update from Sony.

xperia s might be better than s2 in some aspects, but it is not better than the galaxy s3,the only phone that has the chance to stop the s3 big sales is the next iphone.

some mistakes i want to correct:
the corning gorilla glass is the best in the market,it is very thin and very tough ,it is scratch resistant and shatter resistant in the same time, unlike the glass of the xperia s which is scratch resistant but not shatter resistant and that is why xperia phones come with pre installed shatter proof screen protector which is reflective ,decreases the view angle and liable to scratches!?!?and if u decide to remove it your phone screen will be in danger.....so u have to keep it in place and keep watching the scratches grow day after day!!!!!!.....

the second thing that i want to mention is that the super amoled screen of the s3 is the best in the market it does not give over saturated colors as the previous ones ,the bravia engine of sony which only works when u r watching videos and photos gives great results that is very close to the s3 super amoled experience but it can't beat the deepest black color in the market.

please if any one want to discuss with me ,don't use childish way of discussion like starting comparing cars ?!??!and describing people who have another opinion as fools(i don't want to discuss with fan boys)

i am using xperia pro phone u can find my comments in every where .

SXS looks like a pretty great phone to me...been long tym since i've been in the scene w/ other brands, sony included (been a little tight on money lately...haha)...although i have heard lots of great stuff from samsung's S3 too...but i'm more of an aesthetic guy, i might take this as my nxt fone (sooo not sure yet!!!)...i guess it really depends on where your interests slant when it comes to buying a new fone...

nick, 18 Jul 2012I bought this phone. It's benchmark is 3,300. S2 just score... more I don't belive in benchmarks much, but just for its sake, i too get a quadrant score of 3310 with stock Sony ICS firmware (.452 build no OC)! Wait for the next update (due shortly) as users claim 15% increase in benchmarks!
