This is Sony's top phone and I've found it to be an excellent phone that needs a few free apps to make it perfect. I found I couldn't delete photos without connecting to PC, downloaded Ghost Commander from google play (app store) now can delete photos, music, podcasts etc, on the go. Superfast dual core processor, it's hard to believe its a phone and not a full pc. 32gb of storage is amazing, though it's not expandable, and the battery cannot be swapped out. The android software is due to be upgraded to ICS in a few weeks - so it should get even better, though I'm not sure how. The only problem I've found is some of the software you cannot get rid of ie google books which seem somehow to use data allowance without the app ever being used!!
This is (touted as)faster than iphone 4s but half the price on contract. Every 2nd person seems to have an iphone 4/s. When they see how your Xperia S performs and hear what you are paying for it they may re-evaluate their IQ scores.

Since android 4 is not out yet i cant make any critic.
I have xperia X2, X10, Play, Arc & now S. first time the look is a mix for business class and teens. the best feature is the equaliser (x loud and surround features which creates magic with bose earplug)bravia engine gives great display. startup and shutdown time is improved (really quick). Backup is good while playing music and calls but when i play game it gets heated too much and battery drains fast. camera is good in daylight but sucks at night as compaired to blackberry torch. Calling is improved as u dont have to go thriugh too many options.
For: style looks music touch speed durability as i have already droped it many times.
Against get heated too much gaming drains battery.
Note: if u dont have 3G its useless for u

When I first bought this phone I had this problem , but when I did the following every thing is now better than it used to be:
1. menu- settings- privacy- factory data reset.
do the same again ,but in the end(settings reset) instead of (factory data reset).
2.menu- settings- storage- clear internal storage.
Connect Xperia S to your computer then pc companion installation should appear on your phone, install it.
Through PC companion update phone software.This device really needs an update.
Android 4 should be available these days. via pc companion.
(it'll remove everything on phone apps, contacts, photos,.....etc)

Rocky, 27 Apr 2012I bought this phone a couple of days earlier.. And started... morejust press volume and power button together for 5 min. and it will turn off. I faced the same problem but now its resolved.

Bought this fone in exchange for HTC one V as i faced a dead handset issue regarding it..
guys ill tell u some thing its a beautiful feature packed mobile with a very satisfactory performance..
Battery is decent, it has the finest 12 MP camera with full HD recorder and front camera records at 720P HD videos and its a 1.3mp snapper.
32 gb and 26 gb user accessible memory is too fast to load applications..it just takes a very few seconds to install aplications on fone since it has a 1.5GHZ dual core processor and 1GB ram with internal 32Gb drive..
u will really fall in love with this fone once u get used to it..im a proud owner of samsung SGS2 but let me tell u one thing this is the father of SGS2 ..
The only disappointing thing is that it lacks ICS 4.0..once it gets released nothing can beat this fone except HTC one X since it being the father of Androids..
Guys i assure u that u will never regret with this fone since it offers u a plenty of features with amazing performance..

Every aspect of this device is awesome expect the audio quality. Full volume is not sufficient for me.

i bought the SXS about a month ago.based on the sexy looks of it although it seems abit late for sony to release a dual core at this point of time.it was a terrible choice for me.the home/back/menu cap buttons were a pain to use.almost everytime i have to hit 2-3times on the buttons for it to sense my input.due to the screen res,there are quite a number of apps i cant run.phone seems lag as hell even on apps like whatsapp.lots of freezing.after a mth of terrible experience with it.i changed to a htc one X.and my problems are gone.not to bash the sxs , its a nice looking phone,great camera features,bravia engine.but thats about all to it.everything else just couldnt make it.

Even you are not using the phone after internet browsing some apps are running.download android booster and end all unwanted apps. Download one touch battery saver for better battery life.
