Hey Guys!
Its been 2 weeks since I bought my Sola. And the experience has been amazing.
What I love:
I love the fact that its very light and sleek which suits me totally. Its got amazing graphics, you can play any game and it loads up quickly. The external speakers are damn good. Happy with the ui.
What I don't like:
Like all smart phones the battery lasts a only a day if you use it heavily with wifi on. If you don't use your wifi it should run for 1.5 days.
I didn't quite like the camera quality as much as I expected it to be. The camera shutter button is very hard, but if you use it for a month or so I think you'll get used to it.
And lastly the sound quality seems bit low.
I would rate the phone a 7.5/10.
I think its time the sony guys know that a smartphone does need more battery life and for all future phones they provide that.
Go for SOLA!!! I do recommend for all new users!!

I don't know what happened but just today when I'm about to give back my sola on the store where I bought it, the signal detected edge at last! Thank God! I don't know what caused it but I did so many things for my phone to work.

just in case you want to know what I did.
Here it is:
1. updated my phone to the latest firmware 6.0.B.3.184
2. Called globe to give me gprs settings(they instructed me to manually configure it)
3. download internet settings on the settings(
I was very much frustrated the past few days as I can't download it no matter what but just today, I was at home and left my wifi on in my sola and when I tried to download the settings it did work)
4. I put the search mode on manual(network operator settings)
5. Network Mode is Wcdma(preffered)/gsm
I don't which made my phone work but it's a relief, thank God!
Anyway, is still not detecting 3g/hsdpa but edge is better than nothing.

guys i m planning to buy the xperia sola but the software is android 2.3 ........after a while sony will give us an update for transformin from android 2.3 to v4.0? plz rply

dear glenn kindly tell me the advantage and disadvantage of xperia sola. And how good xperia ray i.? I need a crystal clear picture and video clarity with good battery back up. Kindly suggest me the best mobile in all aspect.. Thanks in advance..

Holding the power button and pressing "volume" until it vibrates will cause the phone to restart even it hangs up.
Why would having a non-removable battery create problems. iPhone has a non-removable battery

tinfu, 02 Aug 2012hello glenn, tried that already still no 3G signal/icon. if... moreAnyway, you will NEVER see a G/E/3G/H icon unless you turn on and was able to connect your phone using DATA (Allow Data Traffic). Otherwise if DATA is disabled on your settings, you'll just see signal bars.
You'll only see an icon if you are connected to the internet. @tinfu, at your area you should atleast get an G or E icon when you connect to the internet. You should have load if you are prepaid. If you don't even get a G=GPRS then your internet setting(Access Point) is not properly configured

You should try it on other phones @tinfu, because there might be NO 3G signal in your area.

They really don't have warranty, just 7 days replacement. The 1 year service warranty is non-sense. since it doesn't include parts. But my Sola is working just fine. Anyway, the gadgets here are cheap(since thay really don't have real warranty, buy at your own risk).

Dear Friends, Sola is having a battery which is non-removable by user. Will it create any problem. How to restart the phone while it hangs up..? kindly suggest whether shall i go for SOLA or XPERIA RAY...
