1) Xperia go is waterproof,while Sola isn't.
2) Sola has more than 60% crisper display,264 PPI vs 164 PPI.More than 2.5% higher resolution screen, 854x480 vs 480x320.
3) The Sola has average talk time per battery charge, but the Xperia go's talk time is really poor,5.5 hours vs 6 hours.

Hi all,
It has given that we can upgrade android version from 2.3 to 4.Is it really can upgraded? Will there be any side effects if upgraded? And how to upgrade to android 4.And Iam very much confused in getting SOLA and Motorola Defy+.Both are looking fine but dono what to take.I need any one's suggestion in this,as Iam going to buy this mobile.Kindly reply ASAP

this phone have will have annoying battery life.
i try to off all the possible consumption of battery like (background dat-off, brightness-lower, standby time for 15sec, gsm only, no running apps, i installed also go task manager, go master power, no wallpaper, and i also use the built-in power saver)
no texting "standing-by" only
i've been annoyed because i did all this techniques but still the battery is valid only for 24hrs. after 24hrs you charge it again and again.. everyday. grrrrr

Is LED-backlit LCD and Super AMOLED display are the same or different clearity wise..Currently i am using Samsung Galexy GT I9003 and i want to switch to Sony so i am afraid is it really a good decision....Please Help i am really confuse..really appriciate if reply..Thanks Yogesh

Do you need a smart phone primarily for? camera, or games, or utility apps, or music player, video player, internet browsing? or you need something all around at the price that you need, but what is your priority?

@in9013 your asking for performance on ICS, we still can't tell because Sony hasn't released the update yet. But they promised to release it.
ICS is already released for other phones, but it's not the same, Sony will add their customization like bravia engine to it and make sure the hardware is compatible in the OS. That's why it will take sometime

actually you are correct about the storage and some of it being used by the OS etc.
xperia sola's memory is actually divided like this.
phone memory = almost 2gig free space(user accessible)
internal memory = 4gig free space (user accessible)
external memory = up to 32 gig (user accessible)
that's why I say 5-6 gig is really user accessible

@sam hi sam, why does it restart, could it be because of apps installed or too many apps running in background at the same time? try installing a task manager , like "go task manager" and kill all apps when not in use. It could also save you battery. Is it the same case even if you haven't installed anything? it can be a software problem? if you don't mind, you can probably restore your phones factory settings in the settings->privacy->"factory data reset" but it will delete everything and return your phone to brand new state.

yeah that's true it has sd card s... moresrry, i fogot 2 mention about how much of internal memory is user available!!!, its around 5-6GB i guess.
Or as u tol it myt be evn 4GB.

Sometimes the sleep/wake doesn't response.
phone switched off automatic 2/3 times (Couldn't detect it why)
most disappointed when i m done and disconnect from my PC it re connect again it recommend to restart the phone and after when i restart then its connect with my PC through wifi or usb cable.. this is very depressed me.... need to update from 2.3.7 to ICS 4.xx when SONY officially gives me the update i hope these problms will be solved....

@mark sola or arc s?
Both almost have the same price in our country.
Arc S has better camera(8mp) and larger screen 4.2 inches. But sola has Dual core processor and and a slightly better GPU. Not to mention also that Sola is a newer release.
On my needs I would choose Sola because I want a phone that can run most apps and will be able to run more resource hungry applications in the future(it's dual core and better GPU).
But if you want a better camera(which I don't need since I use a real digi cam for picture) or a bigger screen, for better video streaming and movie watch and also larger keyboard for a more accurate typing. Then choose Arc S. Honestly its 1.4ghz core and adreno 205 gpu can run most existing apps in the market. But a day can come that there will be apps/specially games that will run or will only smoothly run on dual core processors above. specially now that there are already quadcore phones
