Also, it makes the phone even more bulky so I found myself better off not using it.

Also want to add that, my understanding is the Ram, processor,battery are selected/decided based on features, screen resolution, sensors going to be in the phone along with Operating system. so any phone may be s4 for a instance, has 2GB ram, 2 dual core processors, and lots of sensors, so if all background process are active, that phone bound to get slow and lag.

It's a very bad phone. I have one, very slow in this range, no good battery charge, a flicker led display, very bad..., I have Xperia c,too. That was much better Than sp

AnonD-31388, 22 May 2014To all users who are facing lagging and slow response for X... moreIn my opinion, it seems to me that you are cleaning the device off from uneccessary apps and minimizing the phone's standby screen functionality. well this shall work i think as the phone wouldn't need to process a lot of things in the background and phone will be free of any bloatwares, however the downside of your technique is that the owner would have limited customization on the phone, will lose anti-virus which is needed when browsing unsafe websites. and also I don't think you plan to download any heavy games on the phone since you have cleaned it. therefore it will be useful only to people who do basic calls and text.
