Soyam, 20 Jan 2013How can I upgrade my sony xperia u to android 4.0? I am tr... moreUntil it is released to your SI (number underneath the battery, 1234-5678 style) you're out of luck unless you unlock the bootloader and flash it yourself. Note that ICS update appears only via PC Companion or Sony Update Service on Windows, or Bridge on Mac - it does NOT appear in the updates notification on your phone.

AnonD-19732, 20 Jan 2013pls friends tell me total ram aviable on xperia u ; i he... moreI forgot to mention, after I restarted my phone it got 179MB of free ram...

So that's it... I'm using ICS c.1.10 and this is a plenty of ram to use since it's very smooth and fast... You don't have to worry about lagging if you have less ram, the system takes some ram and make wonderful user interface with it. The rest of your memory is only for you and won't lag your phone if you use a lot of memory.

AnonD-19732, 20 Jan 2013pls friends tell me total ram aviable on xperia u ; i he... moreHi, Xperia U have 512MB of ram... some of them are used by the android it self... So practically you have (in my case) ~389MB of usable ram. So, as the built in system applications takes some of the ram, like home launcher, some services started... you got up to 90-150 MB of free ram at all the time. If you're using some app to free more ram, you can get even 200 free ram to use.

At this moment, I have 131MB of free ram... But, it depends on the user, if you have many active programs, widgets, custom launchers, some online applications that connect to net all the time, it's normally to have less ram than usual.

ash18, 20 Jan 2013Ya i know...i was actually answering to the the query below... morebelow, i did mention about doing those tests with my other cellphone also with noise shield and tested on my pc...with or whitout is the same on my XU...

my humble request was, if someone can do the same test and tell me if there is a diffrence, i suppose there is someone who can do that...i wanna know if this noise shield function is also very weak on others Xperia U or it's just mine's...

it's just incredible to talk about gaming and lagging and not about having other important functions of this phone...geez...

slash, 15 Jan 2013guys m realy confsd to whch phone to buy... tinkn whthr to ... moreExperia J is better. Lag is just 1 core processor, but Xperia U has two. But dat doesn't matter. Xperia J has External Memory Card slot for expanding memoory but Xperia U doesnt. You are left to manage with the small 4GB internal memory for your pics, vids, apps, etc. J is better!

Xperia U is a nice phone with nice and smooth operation, but the big lag is the lower OS V2.3 it's running on and the absence of Memory Card Slot. Aside these, it's a wonderful smartphone. If you are not satisfied with the above lags, you may want to consider going for the Xperia J depending on your budget.
As for me, Xperia J is better with bigger screen and Memory Card Slot for expanding Memory.

Ya i know...i was actually answering to the the query below yours...u can try one thing...just make a call to some person in a very noisy environment and after some time, cover the secondry mic using your finger firmly(the one at the bottom is the secondry mic).ask the person about any change in quality of sound...make sure the network is very strong or switch to wcdma mode...one more thing,i dont think there is any app to sceck for it...
