My phone (xperia u) turns off when sim card is inserted, but it's stays on when sim card is not inserted. I only use it now for apps only. What should I do with this?

I cannot connect or get access to hotmail or outlook on my mobil. I was told to contact SONY because this can be a technical problem. What can I do ? It is still in guarantee.

JOHN, 08 Jun 2014my mopail its good working but how updat softwar If it's working well, unless you have a very compelling reason to update (or are prepared to fiddle with custom ROMs), I'd stay put with Gingerbread. Stock ICS works, but is laggy and has its fair share of bugs - most annoying one for me is that it makes the camera very slow and sometimes crash altogether. A clean upgrade or factory reset make it a bit slicker and fix a few bugs (like the Media button), but it's still borderline with Sony bloatware on just 512MB RAM.

The touch screen issue seems universal. Been using the phone for one and half year, but few days back the touch screen problem cropped up on my phone. It won't register any touch movements at certain places on the screen. Texting is a nightmare. Every Xperia U user seems to be reporting this problem. It's cause of a cheap digitiser (touch screen) used by Sony.
Secondly, it's works alright on ICS but surely not better than on Gingerbread (recommend to factory reset before and after updating to ICS)
The phone is not meant to last you in the long run (max. a year, if you are lucky that is)

where, they said, the black one is much better than the white one....

am using Xperia U 1yr day by day the phone get slow. how to solve it.
if i make a call i need to wait few min.
if i use internet the phone will hang simultaneously.

i have bought this last year.... and i love it's designed. it can stand without handle it while we need to take our self picture... but, it not use micro SD as a back up memory. that's a lack of this handset.

i had bought this, 1st year gone touch pad, repair it 2 year gone ear p. Bad experience with this.good phone prob. is above.

This was a really good phone the first year i had this, but then came the android upgrade and it all went belly up, got 2 handsets, one for each for my wife and I. Phone plays up constantly, some apps won't start and always send you back to home menu, calls can't be answered, takes ages to actually decide to send a call after tapping the name, after hanging phone up, it decides to call the last person you had phoned. Terrible, terrible phone, totally forgot about the bad experiences i had had with other Sony phones in the past.

Guyz u have to use dis cell on android 2.3 oly.. if u ll upadate 4.0 it ll start givin problms.. 4.0 is heavy os..
JB is gud fr dis but dey dint gave jb update....

I had bought this phone 2 years back and I noticed a cracking sound in the ear piece. The ear piece was spoiled in 2 days ans SONY replced it with a new phone. That phone also had the same problem (but the ear piece never got damage) and so SONY did not replce it. Its been 2 years now, and it got damaged again. The service center (COMTEL UAE) replced the "receiver". It worked for 2 weeks and got spoiled again. They then replced it repeatdly for 2nd, 3rd and 4th time and all failed with in 2 weeks! Who is to blame? COMTEL or SONY. This is the last SONY I will use. Time to move to HTC.
