Generally a killed task automatically restarts, as you have noted - very often immediately. They're useful if you get a faulty run-away task that's hogging all the CPU, but that's about it. Like all Linux-based systems, Android actually works better by keeping memory full - it makes it more responsive when you run an old app again, if it's lying dormant in memory. So long as a background task isn't using a lot of CPU, there really isn't anything to worry about, and you are unlikely to improve performance with a task killer - and in fact require more battery, since restarting apps have to load fully rather than simply awake from sleeping.

Generally, accepted international standards allow for a certain number of them per screen (dependent on its size/resolution, and whereabouts on the screen it is) so you may well have no statutory rights as such. However it's worth asking your dealer, since some can be more flexible than the law requires.

yeah I downloaded that app and I selected the kill option but when I chck the running apps in settings all those apps are still running :( why is that?

Got this handset yesterday it is going back the battery is a joke even with all options to make it last longer it is shocking.
In call volume is too low can barely here the other person in a city environment, also the external speaker is horrible crackly and distorted.
I have my carrier picking it up tomorrow avoid it.
