Regarding storage, music cannot be stored in the 2GB phone memory, only in the larger 4GB media memory. As you guessed, the 2GB is for apps (though many apps can also use the 4GB) and storage of SMS and other phone-specific data, and is not directly accessible via USB, AirDroid etc.

Hello, anyone will please tell me how much space in gb available or left for users after upgrading Sony Xperia U Andriod Version 2 gingerbird to 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwish (ICS)... please advice me, should i buy Sony Xperia U or HTC Desire C?

guys i've heard alot of ppl n forums talking about 'rooting' and 'changing ROM' for XU (or android phones)
wat exactly do u mean by these terms???
wat r d advantages n disadvantages???
does it void the warranty???
is it d same as upgrading to new OS version??

AnonD-43136, 25 Nov 2012In Ics you can close down some apps without them restarting... moreYep, some of them die properly, but cr@pware ones like Music Unlimited (and of course anything vaguely system-related) bounce back zombie-like, and frequently use a ridiculous amount of resource for something that quite often does nothing obviously useful. Per the article, I have Watchdog Lite installed which is handy for keeping check of genuine run-away processes, but nothing else. Since trusting Android to get on with memory management and not try and quit out of every app when I finish using it, I've found responsiveness and battery life have both noticeably increased.
