You will need Sony PC companion for the update. You may not receive any indication regarding the update availability directly to your Xperia U

Takes a full sized standard simcard, not a mini-sim as described. (I own this phone and use a full size sim :P)

For those who r getting dot problem blue or whtever colur is ut blue or purple...thy r my freind.....so my frind just update ur mobile.....android 2.3.7+.......all will gone...,,,hurraayyyy.....my purple dot again..,.,just after update I check camera....itz fine.....

The Xperia U has 8GB of memory, split as: 2GB for phone (SMS etc), 4GB for media (USB accessible) and another 2GB reserved for Android system (not accessible to us, so 6GB total really). Most apps can use either the phone or media memory, and apps that download lots of extra data (typically games) will put that in the media memory.
There is no internal way to expand this, and there are no larger options available. USB OTG (on-the-go) can be used to connect external storage if need be.
