At first i think the lens cover is a protector of the lens or else. The camera is very nice after removing its cover. Hope the purple spot is also gone.

I purchased this phone on 1st sept 2012 price of 17000/-, and within 10 days the was heating a lot, music player doesn’t worked properly and the side camera button never responded..13th sept 2012 i went to the sony service centre in munirka(new delhi) the person there told us that sony experia will not be repired as per company norms it will be a complete replacement. I gave the phone the work order number is SE1256311920 they told to wait for 1 week. After a week i contacted the service centre they told that please call the sony experia customer care centre for status they gave me a complaint number as 93756949 and told to wait for another 1 week.. i waited after week i contacted the customer care they told me that the phone mother board is not available...i told the executive that i dont want an repair i want a replacement as its a brand new phone....again a tickect was raised 93826709...on 5th oct 2012 i recived a call from the service centre stating that your new phone has reached service centre come and collect...i went there they gave the phone in a vegetable poly bag and with out battery...i argued with the service centre people but they denied...i gave the phone back to the service centre took my acknowledgement recipt....am still waiting for my new phone,,,,never buy a SONY product...i have spoken to my legal advisor,,,next monday am going lodge a complaint against the sony and the service center . I have been using this phone in about 2 months.
The minus of this phone is
-The led light gave a very white picture if you shoot it with flash. Especially if i use it on night to shoot things that start from 10m away from my phone. That bugs me a lot.
-The camera has a purple ish spot. in my term, it started showed up yesterday. I don't know why.
-The ram is only 390mb and it is often jammed if i use too many application
-The battery will run out about 3 to 4 hours if i use it continously in any use whether it is for watching video or surfing the internet.
On top of that. This is a cool phone.

This phone is average. The minus of this phone is the led light on capturing picture night is awfully white unless you want to lower the iso.
Then, the lens has a purple spot. I am sony u user in about 2 months and the lens already showing the a bit of purple spot.
Then, the phone is often jammed if too many application are open because the RAM is only 390mb
Then the battery will run out in 3 to 4 hours if you use this phone

I can't believe!!! After 3 weeks I noticed one stuck green pixel in lower right angle of screen. Is there any solution for this? Is it true that he might one day disappear or will forever remain so. Sony service center doesn't want to accept a one defective pixel. By Sony two defective pixels are acceptable. I am very disappointed in the Sony.

This may be a dumb question but can anybody explain to me what CLOUD STORAGE is? i've read several ppl talkin about having 50gb of storage for their Xperia U, that dropbox thingy and etc.. i mean, i'm the type who thinks that 8GB of storage ISN'T enough and then there they have it.. an ALTERNATIVE storage as they call it. BUT what is it exactly? Can it only be used through WiFi? :O I've always longed for Xperia U but its 8Gb internal without SD card slot refrains me from buying-.-
