Regarding battery capacities, I note that detailed specs state that 1320mAh is "typical" and 1290mAh is "minimum", which would explain the discrepancy some people report between advertised specs and reality on the ground - i.e. advertisements boast the higher number to look better, whereas the battery itself has the lower number to cover their backsides.

Real FCC measured SAR (the measure that counts if you don't follow the international standard) appears to be about 1W/kg, well under the 1.6W/kg limit - and even if it was about 1% over the limit it would not make it dangerous because safety margins are built into health matters (and simply wouldn't be allowed to be sold).

Hopefully an American user can confirm this approx 1W/kg figure from the SAR leaflet with their phone.

Anonymous, 24 Sep 2012Sar value is 1.62 which is very high in xperia u wen compar... moreIt's not dangerous or it would not be allowed to be sold. The SAR value accepted by all the world apart from USA is 1.22W/kg (10g), WELL under the 2W limit which itself will be WELL under whatever is actually dangerous. The USA uses a different way of measuring it, which frankly I do not trust, but even so, 1.62W/kg (1g) apparently being 0.2W over their (lower) limit (and not a trustworthy reading anyway, FCC say more like 1W/kg in OFFICIAL US testing) does not suddenly make the phone a death trap, because even the Americans understand safety margins. Please do not scaremonger under cover of anonymity.

AnonD-7373, 24 Sep 2012Most of the complain is about memory. Trust me, this phone ... moreLol! That nokia was just so poor build quality! Not very nokia like! Anyway just install fast reboot to free up ram before you start gaming. Also if home button works the same as live walkman with long press then if you use fast reboot first - it will put it on the previous applications list! All you do is play a level of your hd game then hold the home button and press fast reboot and it will free up ram without closing the game! Note that if you leave the game and go to homescreen and press reboot it will close the running game or apps! Totally valuable tool that I use on lww!

On the other hand, I might avoid using the phone on a belt clip with bluetooth, since that would be quite close to new baby. Even whether you hold the phone firmly or loosely against your ear can dramatically change the effective SAR. Just be sensible and don't take unnecessary risks!

skywalker, 24 Sep 2012is it dangerous to buy this phone ??? pls replynot very dangerous but more than others in i international edition , in Lebanon limit is 1.6 only so 1.62 won't be banned but it is the max. limit! others have it 2 ! a american edition is way less due to USA values and laws as i said! however it won't made a cancer anyway if you talk average time but use it always to answer handsfree on left ear which is better on your brain

1.22W/kg comes from documentation by law supplied with the phone. It's possible that models other than ST25i might have different SAR since they work on different GSM bands, and also measured differently in countries that ignore international standards.

skywalker, 24 Sep 2012is it dangerous to buy this phone ??? pls replyNo, not at all dangerous. SAR for UK model is 1.22W/kg compared with the international recommended limit of 2W/kg. All safety limits like this are designed with considerable margins in mind (hence why it's such a vague number), so even 2.1 or 2.2W/kg shouldn't have any adverse effect :)
