I bought it two days ago. The phone is absolutely brilliant. I previously owned an LG Optimus GT540 and SE X10 mini. It's incredibly well designed, it looks beautiful and it's an average weight. Performance is brilliant -- incredibly swift and highly responsive. The system itself looks beautifuly polished, and the display is crisp and is on par with the iPhone 4. The battery lasts a day, maybe a day and a half at it's best ( I wouldn't know, really). The "no memory slot" issue is not much of an issue to me as the highest capacity I ever owned was 4 GB. To make it clear, You have 4 GB of space for your media plus 2 GB for the apps. The 4 GB of internal memory emulate an SD card, even though there is none. Camera works great, the "one second picture taking when the phone is locked" works as advertised. The pics look beautiful with the Bravia Engine. Games run fast, browsing is really comfortable. Call quality is excellent, the sound is satisfying. There, I think this is enough for now.

an excellent phone..the display being superb makes u luk at it all and again...specs are good and the limited space makes u think of alternatives sometimes..but dats something u can get in this price & u should be satisfied with it..

d only prblm I'm facing is its signal reception...as soon as I enter a roaming location or some low network area, the "No service" thing comes up and the signal is lost...it regains only if the phone is rebooted..is anyone else facing dis problm..kindly post sm solution if any...

d only problem I'm experiencing is the network signal...it goes off as soon i enter a roaming location or a low network area, and does nt turn up with the signal even though the network is full..the phone has to be rebooted to regain the signal...is anyone else having dis problem..kindly help me with the solution if any..

Nilesh, 04 Jun 2012which is better xperia u or desire s both price is same now.desire s is also a good phone

              when compared to xperia u
              it has following

              benefits
              bigger screen 3.7"
              more ram 768mb
              sd card slot

              bt xperia u has
              dual core processor
better gpu ( mali 400 vs adreno 205)
better pixel density ( sharper n better display)

so if 512mb of ram and 6gb of storage is sufficient for u
              go for xperia u

mind u both can run android 4.0

besides xperia u is better looking woth transparent element lighting
but desire s has sense ui which is better than timescape

there is absolutely no problem in the loud speaker
the only problem is that the loudspeaker is on the back side of phone
so when u keep it on soft surfaces ( bed or sofa) the loudspeaker gets covered
yes its still audible but only if u r adjacent to the phone
so I have practicised keeping my phone upside down( I have the screen protector) when I leave it

6 gb memory is sufficient for me
excellent display ( way better than iphone 3gs)
superb processing owing to dual core
512mb ram is sufficient who says its not sufficient
                      superb touch screen response
battery is good by far ( yes u need to charge it everyday)
transparent element light can be turned off using an app named screen filter ( m using it)

real cons of this phone -
keyboard in portrait mode is difficult to type ( I still make mistakes after 8 days of purchasing)

sometimes u may feel conservative due to limited storage :-p

those who are thinking to buy this phone., go for it., u wont regret ur decision

those who find so many weakness in this phone
keep finding more coz u dun have one xperia u to fiddle wid so are kinda free to find more

                      this phone is worth having
                      5 stars to Sony

and the speaker IS loud enough to here for ringing..
and i know its not that bad because i also have a htc one v and a samsung galaxy 3, and the xperia and the one v are about the same in volume. my galaxy 3 being louder at the cost of the sound distorting.
like i said it isnt the loudest, but still loud enough.
and yes i have read all the forum posts on most websites.

Anonymous, 04 Jun 2012Good phone worth it...:)Not a good phone, not worth it. 8GB with no SD card is too small. And 512MB RAM is barely enough. Sony Ericsson knew how to make good phones (I own Xperia Arc S), but Sony doesn't. Only Sony phone with a potential is Sony Xperia Acro S.
