download an app called night mode frm play store...you can use it to disable the the illumination bar...about the screen size xperia u has 16:9 aspect ratio so when your watching movies or videos no black stripes are there in the top and bottom of the screen...tivr you can utilise the full screen estate of xperia u...I am having no problem with my xperia u whatsoever..xperia go is not abad device either you can also go for it...

xpser, 24 Mar 2013if u have seen go and u both has 3.5 inches display then wh... moreYes...get night mode app from play store,and you can disable the illumination bar...the screen of Xperia u is widescreen type with 16:9 ratio so when you watch most videos on xu screen,there are no black strips above and below the video so u can utilise full screen estate...but go is a nice phone too but i love my xu...not a single problem whatsoever and no problem like screen not responding etc...

Does anyone experiencing difficulty texting on Full keyboard? i can't press the Letter A although i'm really pressing/touching it and it just doesn't want to write Letter A. it keeps writing letter S instead! URGHH if i won a lottery i would be probably using iphone5 or Galaxy S3!! UGHHH i'm starting to hate this phone!

This phone and also Sony Xperia P and S are plagued with a lot of problems.
1. Screen gap issue (body And display).
2. Accelerometer not working correctly.
3. Compass not working correctly.
4. Earphone jack defective
5. Touchscreen stops working after some weeks.

I'll never update it to ICS because i did the same thing with my previous phone (Sola) and it messed up the camera,as it took long time to click the pics also faced battery issues,things were ok before the update,but that phone was itself a big problem for me because of the call clarity so i had to get rid of it,am happy with GB.Xperia U is a great phone.
