Sony Xperia V owner, 02 Oct 2013Camera is good and overall the phone is good except for the... moreit is very strange. The works that most energy require are to watch video in internet (streaming), gps and blotooh, and to make photos.
In my xv (streaming in 3g)requires 24,82% during 40 minutes with bravia 2 and everything on. In stand-by with 3g on during 11,6 hours requires 3,31%. The total is 28,13!!! not 90% like you!!

It goes without saying that if you only use internet, without streaming, the draining is much less, around 8-9% in 3g during 40 minutes. In this case, the total should be 12,31% and you should have 87% left.

Leave your phone in stand-by with 3g on, take a screenshoot before going to bed and take another when you get up, as you know the consume per hour is (%before going to bed - % after)/number of hours. Check that and tell me.

The normal is draining 1% in around 3,5 hours if you have Extended Standby Mode on.

If your phone drains 1% per hour or more you have a problem with the battery, with the phone or with the apps you have installed.

yoyanoca, 02 Oct 2013Hi what is the best step or best apps to root xv?DooMLoRD_Easy-Rooting-Toolkit_v17_perf-event-exploit.zip

That was i used for my xperiav 4.1.2 jelly bean, it was very easy. You can download it in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2366577

There is another good scripch, the one of Bin4ry, you can download it in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgSTiNzJ6Hs

but i tried it before but it didnt work to me

When you get root, to get advance of it, you should download a browser from playstore or from internet, for example Xplorer that is free, there are a lot.

AnonD-191967, 01 Oct 2013hi can you tell me about camera please? (everything)Its a good camera (13 megapixel, R sendor, and nice lents) if you compare with similar smartphones. Of course it cant fight with the Lumia 1020 or the xperia Z1 becouse they are from a new generation, but it still can fight with samsumg S2,S3, S4, HTC one and xperia Z. During the day the photos are nice without any noise, and with the same quality of xperia Z for example. At night the automatic mode its worse than xperia Z because z has sensor rs that catch better the light. However using manual mode the quality at night improves and its better than automatic mode of xperia z, but yo have to learn to adjust the colour, the iso and the exposure.

It is a nice camera, but remember that if you have to get the best results, you will have to learn the manual mode.

If i have 3 seconds, i prefer to use always manual mode, because the automatic mode , for my taste, makes too warm photos.

One advise, disable bravia engine 2 if you dont want to watch people as if they were the simpson.

Summing up, its a good camera, even for perfectionist people like me.

Try to disable blootooh and hungried apps, reduce brightness to 25%. It is like if you had been making potos during 2 hours. maybe the battery is in bad mood.

Anyway. To improve the battery, get root. Install NO-Frills CPU and set the processor to 702 mh. Gobernator: ondemand and noob. YOu will have around 25% more of battery.

I bought this phone about a week a ago, and the battery life is quite disappointing. Today I had the best battery life so far, it was 17 hrs with only just 45 mins of screen usage (which included around 35 mins of browsing only). Up to now I found out that an app named calendar storage eats the battery away. What can I do about this? Pls help. Thanks in advance. I have done the best I could do to save the battery
