I hate round devices. They look cheap.
But what makes me buy it is that it has the same hardware as S7:
- SD 820
- Adreno 530
- 3 GB RAM
- waterproof
- SD card.
And i want a 5 inch phone on FHD. QHD drains the battery and i dont want a bigger screen anyway. Not into phablets at all..

It is an answer for Samsung galaxy s7 in terms of performance. It is currently fastest phone in the market if you look in this phone specs. FHD + sd820 will never be anything better in 2016. Just sad this phone lacks 64 GB internal storage. Also screen is LCD would love seeing super amoled because of small battery. Let's hope sd820 is worth that low battery. But screen size is just perfect. Bezels could be smaller.

Stop bitching about this phone looks cos obviously none of you Sony haters is going to buy it. I know that all of you haters will be happy if Sony fails so if this phone is what Sony's demise looks like, then, so be it.... now shhhh. We get it, it looks bad.... just, not everyone shares your opinion.

This is really strange. If we look at specifications indicated on SonyMobile.com (Ukrainian version), the smartphone dimensions are different: 70,4 x 143,7 x 8,7 mm. This is a bit less than 144.8 x 71.1 x 7.6 mm (5.70 x 2.80 x 0.30 in).
A smaller phone would make more sense since it has a 5-inch display. If the phone is truly 144.8 x 71.1 x 7.6 mm big, then Sony failed, because they pushed a 5.2-inch display in nearly the same body in case with the Xperia Z5. This is a shame they still cannot reduce its height by a centimetre to make it more comfortable in hand. Although the smartphone is truly gorgeous without a glass back.

Samsun s7 is so good from previous high end model (s6, lg4 and z5)
Just keep in mine that s7 is using sony very own sensor.. And sony X advance is not a flagship model, yes it is not :) the flagship will have moniker of sony premium and it uses 4k screen now with HDR just wait :) .. The contrast will be similar to OLED screen..

same old design. rectangle...so stiff...., at least they have new a little bit curved glass.
No camera software upgrade, they just count it to their sensor, Sony won't win the best camera. The 23 mp pixel is suck. I rather have 12 mp with better result than this one.
yet, low battery capacity...i think it will not last for 2 days. And no wireless charging.
wait...uhmm.....Ugly lockscreen....maybe we cannot change the wallpaper...
But the new interface is a little bit cool than previous xperia.
Really bad advertising....except the Xperia XA advertising video is really great.
so... sony is better not to release this phone...they should wait and think to make a great movement with the next xperia z series....i really hope there is a big change for the next xperia.

The price won't be cheap as using the sd820. Losing in every aspects to the s7. Hopefully the Xperia x price will be inline with samsung a series. Or else it's a completely lost of sony versus korean brand techs and chinese brand price.

Camera in s7 is a lot better than this one however the Z5P , LG G4 and BB PRIVE has the MHL connectivity However LG4& PRIVE are all let down by there sd808 soc's only Z5P is somewhat better in offering the quality MHL connectivity & it seems that with this new sony x line of smartphones have dropped that MHL usefull feature with this line of smartphones....i guess the main reason is cause the sd 820 and the new Exynos and there advanced GPU's are now well equiped with the console like gaming quality and companies like MHL and slimport are asking a higher amount of money to intigrate there technology to these latest piece of tech smartphones...

omg sony what are you doing, no progress at all, for years the same: ugly designs with huge bezels, weak batteries, below average cameras even on flagships, same technology for years and horrible prices. you really, really don't want me to give you money, do you?

S7 has the leading f/1.7 appeture, best dual pixel autofocus and smart OIS as usual.
And sony still uses their best sensor with standard formula, and unaccomplish software.

1. Its really ugly or so so in desig... more1. For me its beautiful clear design without antenna line and bumper. I hope it wont suffer signal problem.
2. 100% True. But ya, all they can do is specs upgrading.
3. 100% True again. Only a light modded UI. it looks like they only change the icon, animation, and utilise widget. Notification, nav bar etc are untweaked. Launcher dev skills are better.
4. 165gr isnt big problem..
