RockStar2005, 30 Jul 2016If true, I did not know that. Cool. I have the Z5 yeah. In both superior auto and manual you can pick from 8 to 23mp. Either in (16:9) 21 and 8mp, or (4:3) 23 or 8mp. I actually take photos in 8mp in superior auto at dusk and night. When there's enough light it's a shame not to take advantage of the full 23 or 21mp.

    Sony is brilliant,
    one of the only companies to create new things in tech world !
    All their products are top notch quality... xperia z2 are still running fast :)

          AnonD-566430, 30 Jul 2016Compared to the Oneplus 3, it's massively overpriced. I have just check its page. There are many reviewer and almost all of them are satisfied, it means it sells very good, and its good phone. Especially after update the issue about ram mngmt is resolved.

          We could measure the sales of XP and op3 from gsma page, bcz the consumer of that two is mostly young male. And gsma commenters are also mostly young male.

            I would say the Z3 was better in that it had a bigger battery, but it doesn't make THAT much of a difference, esp if you enable Stamina Mode, which on my Z3 was super buggy so I couldn't use it, but on the XP it's finally been fixed.

            The areas where Samsung improved, Sony was already doing. Finally releasing a phone with a premium body (metal/glass)..........Sony had already been doing that for years. Samsung made their menu a little complicated than the S5's was, but it still is somewhat IMO, where Sony's menu is VERY easy to use and find options quickly. I also liked Samsung Pay. Very useful and reliable.

              I had the Z3 too. LOVED my Z3! My Z3 like when listening to music via MicroUSB port (headphones setup) would only "skip" (aka lag) once in a blue moon. Very infrequent. The S7........OMG......not only is its SINGLE speaker terrible, but it would skip while playing music like every 3-5 minutes! I did the same set up on my XP..........listened to music for 3-4 hours STRAIGHT........it didn't skip once! NOT ONCE. And I was paying attention too.

              I think you're basing that statement more off the many reviews on the XP vs the S7. I've had/have both phones, and not only is the XP better in terms of performance, it even outdoes the S7 on screen and camera quality as well (and it's nice that it does so in Superior Auto....... no longer need to go to Manual Mode like I did on the Z3 to get top-quality pics). Both are detailed, but the S7 (in typical Samsung fashion) tends to oversaturate colors, leaving an artificial look to them. So it is not as color accurate as the XP. Call quality........ my S7 was a locked T-Mobile phone with VoLTE & HD Voice. The XP b/c it's not from a carrier doesn't have these features (in other countries yes, but here in the US, though the phone is capable, they're both not activated here), YET when I talk on the phone using my XP, it sounds MUCH more clear to me than the compressed/tinniness of the S7.

                well i guess depends how much you use the phone,my girlfrend have s6 and i dosent lag,but she isnt all day on it,i know xperia 99% of time dosent lag,i have z3,and i use it a lot
                ist not only performance,i dont compare phones just of basic things
                dont get my wrong i love sony,and i wouldnt buy samsung,if i could buy now xp i would,but dont think i overall better then s7 i want to be fair and dont want to say now samsung i rubbish sony is the best,when its not like that. i said and i will again milion time if is nedded z3 is better then,s5,m8,g3 or anthing form that time,and z2 maybe,then when samsung made s6,and sony z5,non of these phones were better then other,but now i thnik s7 is better... but sonys best phones come out on ifa,so one mounth and we will se

                  Anonymous, 01 Aug 2016Buy Sony and never look back to Samsung.i have a z3 in fact,and i wouldnt buy samsung,but s7 is better then x performance,and problem is multitasking of xperias after marshmallow is in fact bad,and samsung fix that problem,i dont konw maybe saves smo jucie form battery but i didnt notice any difference when i got 10 app opened on my z3,when it was on 5.1.1.,and there is no small app anymore on x series,and battery life on x and xp is worst then on z2,z3,z5 and all of that shouldnt happend... they still have best multimedia,and probably better software,but touch wiz is way better then it was,my girlfrend have s6 fo i know,i s6,s7 are made form proper materials like xperias,and x perfomance frame should be made form aluminuin not plastic... but i dont think xp is real flagship,we will see what th have for us on ifa,just hope it will be again the best phone

Even with 1 more GB of RAM, it still always LAGGED many times over the 3-4 mos I owned it, where the XP never lags. It's ridiculous that with that extra Gig of RAM it still couldn't keep up with XP. It's cuz of TouchWiz. It's AWFULLLLL! I would NEVER go back to Samsung over Sony, never. I had the S5 too and I remember being so unhappy with that one I only kept it for like 4 days before switching it for the HTC One M8.

                                  AnonD-566430, 30 Jul 2016Compared to the Oneplus 3, it's massively overpriced. The main reason why One Plus is famous is because their phones are really cjeap, I.e., they price their phones as flagship killers, not flagships.
                                  Samsung, HTC, Sony, LG wouldn't do that.

                                    Xperia XP is the best phone out there...
                                    DxOmark great and topmost above all else
                                    User Experience is fantastic!
                                    New UI is veey beauiful and goid sense..
                                    Battery life is happily used for 2 days and NO heat issue and everything runs COOL
                                    SO XP is well worth buying and live up to the quality and price tag
                                    I love XP and SONY takes a Crown with XP

I would use 23 MP but then I can't get landscape (16:9) photos, only portrait (4:3). But I prefer landscape, so I go with the 20.7 MP for that since that's the highest one available.

                                        When I back them up using Google Photos, I use the unlimited storage option, which downsizes the resolution to 16 MP. I don't really like that, but the fact is, I can never tell the difference b/t 16 and 20 MPs anyway (fortunately), so it's fine. The fact is, it was taken at 20.7 MPs, so the quality is still there. Kinda like if you take a Hi-Res file (i.e. 24-bit/96KHz) and downsize it to CD-Quality (16-bit, 44.1KHz). It's still gonna sound the same despite what most people think. A dog could maybe hear the difference but NO human can. The ones that say they can are full of sh*t. lol I'm sure if I downsize it to like 8 MPs I could see a difference, but at 16 it seems too close to 20.7 to notice.
