My Z1 usable memory never changed whether it was running Jellybean, Kit Kat or Marshmallow. Neither did my iPhone 4s over the past 5 years.

[deleted post]yes it uses 5gb more , so what ? like I said I don't care about S6... X Performance uses around 9-10gb for software either accept that or go with other brand. It's that simple !

Its crazy that 15 GB has occupied for the 64GB model.
S6 64GB uses only 10GB.

64GB dual sim variant are never available in my country.
Most countries will get 32GB single sim making it irrelevant.
Like i said before Sony does not give you options.
Totally dependent on your region.

Lastly, there's no 64 GB version of X Performance.
If their is, it will be a US only model.
Sony does this all the time, you never get an option to choose the size of memory on a Xperia, unlike iPhone or S6.

-First of all you asked how that there is only 20gb space out of 32gb internal ( I explained it to you that there isn't 32gb of internal to begin with ) .
-Essential apps and system is not bloatware .
-Software is little bit bigger so what ? if you don't like that fact buy 64gb model or some other brand that offers a bit more space . personally I'm going with Xperia because I like Sony apps for Music,Album and Stamina mode .

The fact is a huge amount of memory has been consumed by Sony bloatware and is very concerning.
Put this into perspective, X Performance has 3GB internal memory less than S7 ,7 GB less than iPhone 4s 32GB, 4GB less than Nexus and HTC.
Im curious as to why this has happened. Previous Z flagships had 24GB free.

Agree on all of them. I didn't know that to hav... moreI made a firm decision ever since I sold my Note5 that as long that joke TouchWiz is there I will not buy another Samsung phone again. Note5 and lagwiz given me such frustrating experience that despite it's great features i ditched phone that costed me more than 800$for less than $500 and it was barley 2 months old...physical home button is definite slow down but Samsung can't use on screen buttons because of AMOLED (burn is more evident on the phones that combine AMOLED with on screen buttons) ... and even if they remove that fugly home button how they will be similar to apple ? hahahaha ...

Explain to me why X... moreFirst it's not 32gb of storage but more like 29gb . 32gb devices do not exist ;) check any kind of storage be it flash memory like USB or HDD in PC and you will see that some space is always missing, because :
To a storage manufacturers one megabyte is equal to 1,000,000 bytes, and one gigabyte is equal to 1,000,000,000 bytes. however in binary numeral system which CPU uses , one megabyte is 1,048,576 bytes and a gigabyte is 1,073,741,824 bytes.Thus, for each gigabyte you’re actually receiving about 70 megabytes less than a gigabyte .
the storage that is missing from those 29gb is consumed by android system and main apps like :
-music or walkman app(best music player in android)
-camera app
-album app(really good app for viewing photos)
-video app(for watching videos)
-playstation remote play
what's new app is bloatware but not to big...
