Phone is plagued with serious touch issues, especially around the edges where the "p" and "q" are. My screen became very unresponsive that even swiping from the top down to get notification menu doesn't work anymore.
Getting phone repaired for 2nd time now after 2 replacements before it.
If the XA1 did not have these touch screen issues, this phone would have been a great low-mid ranger.

hi just got my sony xperia XA1 only thing is when i turned it on to set the phone up it was in spanish. does anyone know how to change the phone to english before the setup ,Thanks

Anonymous, 02 Apr 2018Go for the much better XA2 otherwise XA1 Plus.... Snapdragon wins for sure the competition and best in class is now XA2. XA1 is still a great bargain with its Oreo updates and its price cuts.
After Oreo upgrade XA1 is now very fast, no more freezing, great touch, amazing camera using third parties, good battery backup, it has everything for a cheap performace smartphone. I recommend buying the dual sim device.

Im thinking about buying this or Huawei P10 Lite
Which is better and why? (Im worried about battery since i play a lot and brwose also a lot, so the P10 seems better but reading reviews the XA1 have a better performance, not sure tho)

sagar , 29 Mar 2018worst phone!!. Tough is damn rough and notification panel ... moreI have the same problem with the touch screen. I returned the phone for repair twice due to its the same problem screen malfunction. Now i want my phone to be replaced but they're not notifying me yet.

Worst phone paired with the worst customer service. Won't repair the hardware issue because the device has physical scratches. I even specifically asked the sony sales person if scratches would void the warranty before buying the phone. I totally regret buying this phone. I wonder why Sony doesn't want to own up on their mistakes while Samsung was able to.

Worst Mobile in The world. Go For Samsung guru Instead Of This. Because camera is 8 megapixel But Results are Worst. After 5-6 months network issues started in my Sony Xa1. Even Vodafone 4g Is Not Working properly when Im Near To Vodafone Tower Around 0.5 km. So It's worst Mobile phone Ever.

Finally I received the 48.1.A.0.129 system upgrade.
1. Cameras are so much better with or without zoom (even compared to the more expensive brothers) and of course Galaxies. Top quality on daylight, better in dark shots (also using third parties).
2. Touch responsiveness is top.
3. No more software freezing.
4. Better battery backup.
5. Better screen balance.
6. Better loudness in headphones.
7. Better sound in speakers.
8. Better signals and connectivity.
9. Better everything.
In one word: If Sony was being able to make from the start this kind of system optimization then all its problems were dust in the wind.

Does anyone have problems with Snapchat after the oreo update? I now it's a first world problem, but when i try to use the filters my camera has a bug and it gets stuck on a certain image, won't show the live movement, i don't really know how to explain it. If press the button to take the photo it comes up with the filter but when i'm actually using it doesn't sync with my movements. Same goes with the main camera as well. I installed sony companion, used the software repair thing and after that i don't get the number of notifications i have, just a blue bubble on the corner of the icon.
I think the only good thing about this update ishow the new emojis look.

Shee, 22 Mar 2018Notification malfunction I cannot be pull down unless I use... moreI have the same problem... the notifications bar doesn't work, plus I can barely press the button p on the keyboard and generally numbers, letters which are close to the edges of the screen.. I'm really disappointed and dissatisfied... even if you reset the device nothing will change.. I've tried it

worst phone!!.
Tough is damn rough and notification panel doen't work. tough sensation on edge of the phone is doesn't work.

Dont forget, always do a Full Wipe/Reset every "Major" eg. Android 7.0-8.0 Firmware Upgrade, ofcourse after Backing Up your Files First.
