Don't do the update. Your download speed will be affected heavily.
I'm currently reinstalling some apps that no longer worked after the update from the play store and its taking an age to get a 40mb file.

I've updated to the latest version a.3.55 and there is a general lag in almost everything. Some apps don't work anymore. Some will work if you reinstall. Start up is slow. You get notification of themes being applied, contacts being loaded from sim after restarting the phone, they get stuck in start up process I think. When they keyboard comes up for you to start typing there is even a lag there.
Be careful, it might work for you.

I'll be buying a new phone soon(this one is almost 2 years old) because this one tends to lag real hard when you use it for a longer period of time(lets say 5 hours with short break in-between). The lag then prevents you from using it for another 3+ hours.
This maybe occurs because my storage is almost full (90%) or the age got him. I always close all the unused apps.

Anonymous, 15 Feb 2020Pretty ridiculous to know I can purchase the latest version... moreYou may have bought it at the end of Spring 2019, but the fact remains that it is the exact same model that was initially released to manufacturing back in Q1 2018. **When you bought it has NOTHING to do with the the start and end date of its support lifecycle.** It was already more than 1 year old when you bought it.
When the product line was first released to manufacturing, it was running Oreo. It was upgraded to Pie subsequently. The fact that your unit was manufactured and shipped with Pie pre-installed (indicating that it must have been manufactured fairly late in the product line's production run) is really nothing more than a convenience to you, saving you from having to download the upgrade after opening the box.
Anyway, is it true that you never received even one Android update? That is to say: you said back in February 2020 you had owned the device for 9 months, implying that the device must have shipped with a security patch date no newer than May 2019. Is that still the security patch date you see on your device today? (Hint: If you see anything newer than May 2019, then it follows that you MUST have received at least one OS update.)

Guys, software updates are overrated. There are tons of people still using phones stuck on Android 5, or 6!

If you're getting updates, that means just that your newly purchased device wasn't up-to-date or for whatever reason not updating. See here the list of known firmwares: https://xpericheck.com/device/H3113. The latest available firmware is still Android Pie 9 with a security patch level of November 2019.
This device has been left to rot. Spend your money on a more recent device.

DO NOT BUY - this device is dead. Buy ONLY if you plan to install LineageOS, SailfishOS or another custom ROM right away.
During that past 3 months, Sony has removed licensed functionality (mapping APIs, metadata discovery APIs, …) from at least their Music and Album applications (via updates uploaded to the Playstore - do not install!) to dial back cost and involvement.
My H3113 model has been stuck on the Nov 1st 2019 patch level for 4+ months now and looking at how Sony has dismantled their mobile division, I do not expect any ongoing support or maybe just a security patch twice a year – WHICH IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR A DEVICE YOU MIGHT BE USING BANKING APPS ON.
Just buy an Iphone. Had I just not been too cheap to buy an Iphone SE instead of this device back in 2018, I would have current security even moving forward from now, and no 3 month delay between critical security patches getting published and released to the XA2!
