asf, 27 Dec 2018This is midrange phone,dude...wake up!Lol now that was a classic

Performance, looks, feature set, battery life, and efficient use of the available space all are in favour of this phone and correspond to what one would expect in its class.

However, it has a number of issues one may not expect:
      - the case has separate top and bottom plates that protrude slightly. This gives them a noticeable hard edge that makes it painful to press the phone against the ear for extended periods of time.
      - the proximity sensor has a fairly short range of about only about 2 cm. Combined with the edge that one doesn't make one want to push the phone against the ear, this causes the phone to frequently fail to detect the nearness of the face during calls, which in turn makes it easy to press buttons (mute, speaker, etc.) during calls. This is very annoying, and there is a long thread suggesting that this is an issue Sony are unable to fix:
      https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-XA2/Proximity-sensor-issue-during-call/m-p/1352009
      - the fingerprint sensor does not work very well. I can't tell whether the sensor itself is poor quality (or too picky) or whether it's just the rear placement, but I've basically given up on the sensor, for requiring far too much fumbling.

They could have a version with 64GB storage and 4GB ram, for those who do not want a giant screen : P

William, 03 Nov 2018Which would be the better buy Sony Xperia XA2 or Nokia 6.1?... moreIt depends on what you prefer in a phone. For me, the camera matters a lot and the XA2 has more potential with its 23MP rear camera. Even though some reviews say it's not the greatest with the camera, they seem to be comparing it to flagship phones and since the lenses themselves have a high capability, once a software update for the camera comes out it's likely to improve. The Nokia 6.1 has only a 12MP rear camera and, while that is a perfectly decent camera, software updates aren't going to be improving it by much.
The Nokia 6.1 has Android One, meaning it's first in line for software updates so if that's important to you maybe consider the Nokia. Sony's XA2 does have Android 8.0 Oreo right now and it has been added to the list to receive Pie in early 2019, so I don't think there's a huge difference in the OS but it's something to consider if you plan on using the phone for a long time.
Aside from that, I've read mixed reviews about the sound quality and current camera capability of both. I'm personally going with the Xperia XA2 because the camera is very important to me, and also because I think it looks nicer and the smaller size is preferable since I have small hands.
I've also read in most reviews that Sony apps are pretty decent! I don't know yet if I'll feel the same but I'm giving it a shot.
                                      Hope that helps! ;)
