Just ignore all trolling and hating comments and buy this amazing phone. Two years ago I wanted to buy Samsung Galaxy S5. Glad that I've not bought that laggy crap and bought Sony Xperia Z3. And it works smooth till now. Sony is Sony. And it becomes even more smoother after some updates.

I can tell you as someone who has repeatedly and stupidly been labelled as the former by the various 'like to think of themselves as experts' types that haunt such pages as this, that it's quite annoying.
I wouldn't know if Nougat has improved battery performance on the XZ, as I did the update as part of the set up process, so didn't get to see what it was like previously.
I can only assume it's improved things in this regard. I can say that whilst the standard battery life is nothing to write home about, the various 'Stamina' options are brilliant at allowing a user to extend battery life to a point where it can compete with any of the competition.
I also appreciate the level of control that you get over the process that's just not available on other oem skins, with them it's mostly just 'power saving on or off'.

AnonD-620234, 13 Dec 2016hi tell me please when you receiving a call your ringto... moreThe ring tone volume while receive a call is well enough though sometimes feel not loud enough in noisy environments, I had the same experience with my previous XZ due to it's water resistant speakers. Currently I am satisfied with ring tone volume.

- Connect the phone with usb cabe to a Windows pc with Internet connection
- assuming you have Sony PC companion installed on the PC(install it first if you didn't), click on software update
- If it says you have the latest software installed, click on REPAIR MY PHONE and follow the steps that will show on your monitor
- DO NOT DISCONNECT the cable until the program tells you!
- It will take about 5-10min depending on the Internet connection
- make sure that no program is working except for PC companion on the PC, NO USB devices are connected
- Just to be 100% sure, make a hard reset BEFORE & AFTER the process
NEVER update OTA without doing a hard reset first!!! Specially if your phone is rooted, but I doubt your XZ is.
Don't judge if you have 0 technical skills or knowledge..

Google it.
It is NOT recommended, for any and all, not just Sony phones.

I'm perfectly happy with the XZ so far, and the fact that it got Nougat first is a big part of what made me willing to give it a go.

None of xz nougat users, that ... moreNever have I done a hard reset before or after a major update using OTA. This applies to older Nokia and current LG and Samsung phones. Always remove the SD card to be safe.
If Sony phones require all this extra work, then obviously its a design fault and/or a rushed/failed update from Sony. Our family has S5, S6, S7 and LG G4, LG G5.
