Sinesh, 04 May 2018Is this okay for normal use and clicking pics. I am an iPh... moreHm i had the Xperia XZ... an OK phone but i had a severe battery drain, the phone last barely 3.5h sot sometimes even less than 3h. I just sold it, i could not stand that mediocre battery life.

I have the XPERIA Z1, XPERIA Z2, XPERIA Z3, XPERIA Z5, XPERIA Z5 PREMIUM, XPERIA X, XPERIA X PERFORMANCE, XPERIA XZ, XPERIA XZ PREMIUM, XPERIA XZ1, XPERIA XZ2, basically almost all the Z and X series flagships because I haven't bought the XPERIA XZ2 PREMIUM, and the ones that can still run well for 2018 game titles is the XPERIA XZ PREMIUM, XPERIA XZ1, and the best one as of now the XPERIA XZ2. In the end, we shouldn't blame on brands why is it laggy for this that game, because games follow the pace of how fast chipsets are improving. Games demand more now, but I didn't mean that SNAPDRAGON 820 smartphones aren't recommended for playing games anymore, actually they are still performing well on games like NFS NO LIMITS, MC 5, MCVS, also ROS too, but for 2018 game titles those games require more chipset power and also a much faster storage type which is UFS 2.1 now to render faster to maintain the excellent performance of current chipsets, it is a little hard for 2016 high-end flagships to play 2018 game titles, and also the fact that SNAPDRAGON 820 still suffers from overheating after playing a few minutes but it isn't as bad as SNAPDRAGON 810, so yeah...

I am an iPhone 6s user but would like to have this phone for dual SIM and better battery.
Am wrong in choosing this?

I dont hate xperia phone, i just ... moreIt is just the chipset's limit, the SNAPDRAGON 820/SNAPDRAGON 821's CPU performance in GeekBench is 3600 for Multi-Core average, whereas the EXYNOS 8890 scored an average of 5000 for Multi-Core, u could see the reason why it lags in the game, other than the optimization and support of the game. Even the SNAPDRAGON 660 scored way higher, even slightly higher than the EXYNOS 8890. Sorry if I accused u, probably because of your English

I dont hate xperia phone, i just don't want somebody pick wrong phone for gaming(like me). Everyone can see the speification of the snapdragon 820 can be played at high settings in pubg mobile list.

(sorry my bad english)." not as laggy as the one u are complaining"? . Games run like 14 fps all time u say not laggy? The problem here is snapdragon 820 it self and SONY THERMAL LIMIT . I've already try all hd game, shadowgun lagend, arena of valour, Dead Rival, can only got low/mid 14-28 fps on stock rom. Im forced to install custom rom, it can run max setting with stable fps on any games. Just avoid this snapdragon 801-820 on sony smartphone (fail).

If u play other games, it would perform like how other SNAPDRAGON 820 smartphones do. Basically the main reason for it lagging is the game's optimization, another reason might be that it didn't get supported because there are a lot of different smartphones out there. I played on either my XPERIA XZ PREMIUM or XPERIA XZ1, both sporting a SNAPDRAGON 835 and tried using my friend's GALAXY S8 with a EXYNOS 8895, it posted the same results, not as laggy as the one u are complaining, but it is still laggy, this is the same if I compare my XPERIA XZ or XPERIA XZs to my another friend using GALAXY S7 EDGE. The only ones that can perform 30fps-50fps are the ones using SNAPDRAGON 845 and EXYNOS 9810. My hypothesis is that 2016 high-end smartphones, which sport a SNAPDRAGON 820 or EXYNOS 8890, are the so-called "entry level" performers in the game. U should know the situation first before blaming it on Sony just like how other people did blindly

For any1 whos planning to buy this smartphone for gaming, please dont! Its just too worst.. Cant even play PUBG MOBILE on lowest setting..even it has snapdragon820, very lag on any game. Sony thermal suck! Limit cpu temp 53°c. I wish i know before buy it

If u don't like the style of how Sony does, find a brand that suits u, most preferably SAMSUNG or HUAWEI. U should sell your XPERIA Z5, if u are willing to, since u are not using it now, unless u want to make it a collection for yourself like what I did

I'm sure it's just a mattet of getting used to it. But i dont like a lot of the features, key board style, button positioning etc. I actually want to return it (can i do that)?
Im considering resetting the z5 back to factory settings .
