Some simple tests are LCD dead pixel test and Gradient test. So, neither LCD or OLED/AMOLED are perfect. Each have good and bad points. But, I'm talking about the future of mobile phones and in fact all gadgets with screens or displays, including TV's. The future is where OLED/AMOLED hines.

FYI, LCD can suffer from stuck or broken pixels and transient persistence resulting in a limited range of colours that can be outputted. This can even show when the display is turnd off. OLED/AMOLED is the future and wins over LCD for all the future reasons. Its quite obvious. It appears that OLED/AMOLED with foldable, flexable and transparent screens may be commercially available as soon s 2017. Sony is investing heavily in OLED technology now and already has OLED screens in its Professional range of desktop Monitors from.7.6" -30". OLED/AMOLED also wins over LCD by contrast ratio, uniformity, viewing angles and picture quality. The early problems of 4/5/6 years have been solved and the future is looking bright.

              AMOLED displays degrade over time, don't last long, AND are very prone to screen burn-in.

              LCD displays dont have such limitations. You dont need to worry about them.
              Also, you call LCDs "cheap"? That's very stupid of you. Battery hungry? Throw a white background on an AMOLED display and watch it drain your battery. Poor viewing angles? Living under a rock lately? IPS LCD displays have great viewing angles and better color reproduction than normal TFT LCD displays. Bad black levels? Modern LCD displays having extremely low level of blacks, although not perfect black as AMOLED.
              There you go, one disadvantage of LCD is it can't produce perfect blacks. But AMOLEDs have more disadvantages, like degradation, screen burn in, and the blue subpixels die fast, resulting in poor color reproduction over time.
              Sure, AMOLED is the future of displays. But its still a relatively new tech, and it has many disadvantages. It'll take a years for OLED to improve.
              LCD on the other hand, is a matured tech. Has got no disadvantages like OLED.

Do you mean QNOVO software technology ? Sony has partnered with Californian adaptive charging company, called Qnovo to put software technology into its Xperia smartphones. Qnovo’s technology carefully controls the voltage put into the battery at the same time as delaying the full charge, helping to fast charge without damaging the cells. This all sounds great and whether this actually woks, only time will tell.

LCD displays are only for future bottom end cheap devices as its so limited and has reached the end of its technology. Future screens will be flexible, transparent, curved etc etc...bye bye obsolete LCD screens
