sanso, 03 Oct 2016Snapdragon 820 is old and outdated from Snapdragon 821 you ... moreSnapdragon 821 is just a 820 with a slightly higher clock speed. It's the same thing, same Kryo cores, same Adreno 530 GPU, still slower than A10 Fusion.
Next time do your research before telling nonsense here.

First of all, I just want everyone to know I like Sony products, I've had Z2, Z4 Tablet, and now XZ. (and Sony PS3, PS4, MDR-Z7, PHA-3, XBA-Z5, UDA-1, CDP-X5000, CDP-XE900, SCD-XE600, and the list goes on forever...)

Now, I've just got mine Sony Xperia XZ for about 36 hours and I loved it. I was using OnePlus 3 before and it was one of the reason that got me thinking about upgrading to something from Sony.

Why is going from OnePlus 3 to Sony Xperia XZ an upgrade you ask? Why 6GB RAM to 3GB RAM is an upgrade? No, RAM part is a downgrade for sure, but so far I can't tell what difference that extra 3GB could have done for me.

Now, what is reason I ditched the excellent and well received OnePlus 3? One word, software. OnePlus simply does not have the amount of money and resources to THROW at software team, and the software quality shows. I had experienced many weird little quirks and sometimes bugs that I would never have thought possible when I was using the old Xperia Z2. And do note that Z2, a 2 year old phone managed to get Android 6.0 update BEFORE the one year old OnePlus 2/X. I've had multiple phone calls garbled with OnePlus 3, it was just working normally, and it became garbled, and sounded like I'm talking to a waterfall. The most recent update just broke USB OTG Audio support on OnePlus 3. And I love starfield animation in background/lockscreen, and with OnePlus 3's AMOLED display, it should be a natural to have this kind of background as it saves power by not lighting everything up. But surprise surprise... OnePlus 3 does NOT allow you to set lock screen background, nope, you can set a picture as a lockscreen background when you are viewing it, but there's no option for that in the display setup menu. Like WHY? What's the purpose of locking this feature up??? WHY???

The automatic brightness curve is weird on OnePlus 3... Well, ALL of them are weird, als on Z2 and Z4, which is why I often disable adaptive brightness and just go manual. It is usually too bright or too dark, I can still set the slider to make it brighter or darker, but the curve is still wrong, and always too bright in the dark and too dark in the light. Except XZ, the amount of brightness change according to ambient light is just RIGHT ON. When I adjust the slider, the screen just became brighter or darker according to ambient light, it is always the right ratio. I didn't think this is possible, and I wonder how much Sony spent on this single setting to get it just right.

FLAT CAMERA/LENS...Yes, I hate that wart in the back of OnePlus 3

      Charging.
OnePlus 3 Wins on much cooler charging temperature, when I said much cooler, I mean barely detectable!!!

Sony Xperia XZ Wins on the compatibility, as it can use QC 2.0/3.0, which means it have millions of adapter/power bank that could charge it up real quick.

Sony Xperia XZ gets noticeably warm wht the included QC 2.0 charger, perhaps it would work better with QC 3.0?

      Water resistant with Xperia XZ...

Sim tray that does not require eject pin: Xperia XZ

Well, that's all for now, as I'm getting sleepy while enjoying my new XZ's headphone output... Apple iPhone 7 users remember to drill yours with either 3.5mm or 2.5mm drill bit. :P

I cant wait this to come out. I am excited for this. Sony made phones are trusted compare than the others.
I am saying this because my Sony Ericsson SATIO and Sony Ericsson Arc are still working but i choose it to put in the wall as display. By now, i have my Xperia Z3 compact, Xperia Z and Xperia C5 Ultra. All working good.

I don't remember if lower battery life is one of the many new features added in Nougat.

AnonD-593045, 04 Oct 2016I prefer Z5 premium It's kinda pointless to go for the Z5 Premium.
At least in my country, both cost almost the same, but XZ has better cameras, better performance, better battery, better audio, new design, USB C, and is more durable.
The only advantage Z5 Premium has is the larger screen with higher resolution.

[deleted post]Actually, I too am getting a new phone. Currently a HTC One m7 user. It has served me well and is starting to show its age now. So wanted to try something new.
Samsung S7 edge and this Xperia XZ were the options I was considering.
Rather than reviews I have found forum like these actually are much better to judge a phone. So, coming to the point - the Samsung S7 forum is filled with issues - So its disheartening to actually buy something which people are already facing, specially for the price these devices command. I have found the Xperia forum to be quite good with very few issues reported. Just my two cents.
