Gino76, 28 Apr 2017A lesson on RAM management on Android would be appreciated. ok,i hope you will understand me,becouse i a bit bad when it come to exaplining something
so ram is basicly memory which app or OS uses so i could work.
OS uses ram,apps that run in backaround (like facebook,its like small part of app works all the time,so you can get notification etc..) apps and games that you open and use and there are all so chached processes
all of these use some amount of ram memory
and now lets imagine we have 3 gb or ram, OS takes 1 gb, app that run in backaround 500 mb, and 500 mb for chached processes and we are left with 1 gb of ram free.
and now we open 3 apps that need 300 mb or ram
these 3 app will be how can i say active, opened, you can go from one to another without reloading. but if we open one more app that need 300 mb or ram, phone will turn off one or more if is needed apps that are all ready opened so he can make space for that last app we used. and thats basicly how ram managment works,but id dosent have to be like that, and examle is first marshmallow software for xperia z3, it was enough free ram for 10,15 app but ram managment was set to keep like 5 app opened, idk reason for that,maybe is battery like of something like that..
important thing to know is amount of app that will stay opened depend on free ram space and amount of free ram need for app to work,and if you have lot of app that run in backaround all the time,that will eat free ram space,so multitaking will be worse
now lets imagine another one scenario,we have again 3 gb or ram,1 gb is for OS, and 1 gb for apps that run in backaround and chached processes,and we want to play game that need 1,5 gb or ram (which btw dosent exist far as i know) then phone will turn off apps that run in backaround so app can write it self in ram and when you close game phone will turn on again apps that where turn off-at least sonys ram managment works this way i know form xperia l,that phone had only 1 gb or ram, idk did tey change that
i think this is correct, if somebody know more about it comment
and i hope you understan what im saying

      L0lip0p, 30 Apr 2017It does help id the storage is UFS like samsung in heavy ap... moreBut iPhone's OS is nornally optimised well (with only 2GB for most iPhones now) that is why apps load quickly.

      So, which Android OEM would you trust in terms of multitasking, app loading & OS optimization: Samsung with UFS storage but too many bloatware? Or Sony?

            I really wouldn't mind getting this phone to replace the S7 edge as my T-Mobile line. But it seems to have a couple glaring issues.

              Even after the new update 7.1.1 the sound of the dial tone is still very low and not in the volume level of the same tone through the music player as well when playing a video movie with a mkv extension is significantly slower itching and finally Candy Crush three parts slow in the movement of graphics dramatically and these defects Continuing from the previous version of Android 7.0 and my new phone did not go on buying it for two weeks. When will I find solutions Sony

                Gino76, 29 Apr 2017But which one determines the overall speed and performance ... moreIt does help id the storage is UFS like samsung in heavy app loading(like game) but simple app(like chrome, whatsapp, YouTube) is determined by how good the optimisation, you can see sony, iphone crush samsung in regular app opening but samsung tend to win in game(sometime iphone win cause we know how optimised game in ios)

                In case of multitasking, the speed and capacity of RAM play role, to an extend that is, bigger RAM can keep more App, you can see how OnePlus 3T handle multitasking with 6GB RAM
                But as always it comes down with optimisation, desite having 6GB RAM, OnePlus 3 tend to kill app aggressively in it ealy day until they updated it
                While Sony have good RAM management it can keep many app and load it fast enough, while samsung had a delay in relaunching the app, and pixel, sometime need to reloading it despite having the same amount of RAM while iPhone i give it ro them for RAM management, they now their stuff, they had some Algorithms that can reduce the size allocated by a certain app in RAM without killing any app when more RAM space is needed, they relaunch app fast enough (not instantaneous as i mention before)
                So the point is hardware play role in how das a phone is, but good hardware need a good software to go with, one can make an overkill spec, like SD835 chip+8GB RAM DDR4+720p screen(lower res=better performance)+5000mAh battery but if they put crap software the phone is literally crap

                                Sony you should stopped the production of DUAL sim supported variants. I have used Z3 Duos, Z3+ Duos, Z5 Duos, and now XZ DUOS....but I have found same problem for all variants...talking one sim and fishing and immediately if I want to talk through another sim unfortunately it is not working...sometimes it can not restore the network before switching the phone...how funny a branded phone but their network capacity very poor...either Sony should stopped the dual sim variants or the have rethink about network capacity...I am really disappointed...

                                    In my opinion (as I have 64GB Xperia X) you will get around 49 GB storage for additional apps so there is no need to use SD card at the moment.
