So does this mean people will stop bitching about XZ battery life? It was never bad to begin with it was only just slightly below the z3.

Did not like. Speaker volume too low. Gallery is confusing. It gets too hot and when it warms up using the camera, it shuts off. I'm using it for 15 days and I'm already selling.

It's very impressive now even if it might be slightly behind the competition it still takes great pictures. This is no longer an issue. I'd pick the XZ over the s7 any day because sony focuses on real practical quality and not marketing gimmicks.
Not to mention all the things that Sony has that the s7 doesn't such as the best front facing camera, superior audio quality, build in Noise cancelling chip, Qnovo battery, unique alklaeido metal for better style and durability, RGBC color sensor, laser, 5 axis stabilization, superior LCD display with better colors? stereo front facing speakers while retaining ip 68? Check. Incredibly smooth software? Check.
and people still talk like the XZ is nothing even though its packing so much damn thing into one space.

Ram don't matter. 3GB ram is enough for multitasking and gaming. Well optimised software is very important. That's why iPhone works smooth with just 2GB ram. Same goes for Sony. Sony's lightweight near stock UI works very smooth. Unlike Samsung's heavy TouchWiz. It will lag even with 6GB ram. They don't know what is optimisation and won't optimise their phones.

You must not be serious...
Flag phones are all about flag performance not flag numbers....else by definition there are NO flagship phones. That imaginative one shoud contain a 4k screen, 16 gb ram, newest snapdragon or apple SoC, 4500mah battery, 40 mpx camera on the back and 16 mpx camera on the front at least, all in one package.
No....that phone does not exist, and never will
Flag is about performance based on what a flag ticks inside, not numbers per se.
And all we can choose is what is more important to us as users personally, be it graphics performance for gaming, be it screen res for googled VR, be it ram for better multitasking (although with todays tech anything over 4gb is just an overkill never to be actually used, and 3 gb indeed sufficient for any task except intense multitasking)
So yeah, optimization is one of 2 most important factors for a "flag".
And XZ most definitly provides.

Better for games,multitaking etc etc. Sony has been using 3gb of ram for years and same low screen resolution for years also, when the norm is 4gb ram. Its 2017 now...Sony make believe, because nobody else believes.

Updated my X on nougat, battery life improved a lot doesn't drop even a bit at night and so does the camera, takes stunning pics at any lighting conditions, this phone now can give the flagships a run for their money.

Also a larger battery and longer talk time. Also considering the camera on the XZ is not considerd the best in its class (according to gsmarena), I would say that the HTC 10 is better on paper specifications and probably the better choice.
If you want water resistance, then the Sony is the choice.
