My last phone is Samsung S2 it is a mess in audio quality and unpleasant to hear, the only better way to listen music with Samsung S2 is increase the volume to max level, but it hurt my ear and can't listen for a longer time, the bass is stupidly fake and the treble is perfectly shrill but I can't enjoy the horrible noise/melody.
I change to Xperia Z2 because it is sturdy build and Battery endurance with stamina features and most important it is waterproofing. Sony is also lead with the first Walkman: the soul of the music, and I can listen the music show out with soul. I believe Japan's tech although the Japan's economy not that good, but I know Sony have talent in develop smartphone (including the camera, audio, display etc) and it show my decision is right and I love my Xperia Z2.

But htc10 is one of those things touted by many people in the audiophile forum as superior to any other smartphone along side with lgv20 which has a quad dac.
the z3 i know was touted as the smartphone with the best audio quality and people are saying how it went downhill after that.
have you personally tested both phones in headphone experience?

Thanks anyways.
Having mono option is good as it should improve loudness by 5-10db.

I impressed with the clarity of underwater video with 1080P 60 fps. Got few scratches on phone frame hitting it on pool walls while I was swimming though. But yet I began to love it more with how it impressed me with underwater video clarity, sound recording and focusing also the protection of depth more than 1.3m.
