Only 3gb of ram means nothing, real life performance is the important thing here, what do you about the fastest smartphone "iPhone 7" with 2Gb of ram, have you tried the Xperia xz before complaining?? Did you even asked a user?

It is now clasic shaped Sony. But unfortunately it is a small one. Also about the features, it is not a breakthrough, in many aspects: no IR port, no heart rate, only 3 GB RAM, no radio.
This phone is good, but far away to be the best one!

In short, it establishes next to nothing, which is typical of one of the links you provide.
My opinion is based on actual experience between the three devices, which is more that can be said of that article, and you.
What's sad is your bias making you draw conclusions between devices you don't even have any experience of, you used a S7? an ip7? (I doubt it, your too much of a fanboy to even touch one of them), you dont even have an XZ, so what exactly other than bias are you basing your opinion on?
You say in a post below that overall the XZ is the best, How would you know?

I actually prefer the screen on the XZ to the S7, which is something i never thought I'd find, and yes Touchwiz still has performance issues (beginning to think at this point it always will) but i agree that the camera is better.

It doesn't come out whenever you just try it out or what. IT only comes out when you are really using it. I've tried two s7s too and Iphone 6+, good phones too. Really happy with the two overall, tho the Xperia, the S7s and the Ip6+ has also disappointments. My biggest complain is from the s7s. They lag, crash and hangs a lot. Not a flagship performance for me. The screens are marvelous and the cameras are overall better performer than the XZ and the IP6+. The XZ is overall a better phone of the three. The Ip6+ is a very solid phone for me but battery life sucks and the camera is just not good

Now apply that to a 3 and a 5 year old running here, there and everywhere at full pelt, motion blur in that situation is anything but aesthetic.
Sorry, I have personally used many of the top devices of 2016 (which is more than can say I'll bet) and I can tell you straight, for action shots the XZ pales overall next to the ip7 and S7, though I'll say it's probably better than the G5 (as the camera in that is now looking painfully slow to focus and shot).

But sorry I can't say what improvements were made image processing wise in the nougat update.

Tann Hauser, 14 Jan 2017Predictive autofocus feature on XZ should do the job. ;-) No, it doesn't, it's not quick enough in real world use and can be easily confused. A similar tracking focus feature is also present on the S7 (where it is just as unreliable).
