One of the best phones ever made. Had it since the release November 2017 and apart from few tiny scratches it still feels like a brand new device. Maybe the battery performance has deteriorated a little over the years.

I've had it for about 2 years now and I still love this phone. I bought it because this is pretty much the only phone on the market with this size screen. The battery life is still amazing, it's very fast and snappy and the button layout, etc is perfect.

Everyone says "WTF phone is that" when they see the tiny, chunky brick that is the XZ1 Compact, but I've had it several years and I love it! The performance is great in day to day use (haven't tried any games) and the battery life is amazing - shorter now but still excellent. I love the small size too. The main drawback is the relatively terrible camera. Unfortunately, I'll have to upgrade soon because the charging port and GPS on mine became unreliable...

Bought this baby today haven't played around that much with it but I already and absolutely love it. The formfactor is so small and nice in my palm though I myself have hands bigger than the average. The phone is so snappy and light, the camera is OK and I was keeping my eyes on battery life and my first impressions so far are is it really good. I bought it especially for hi-res music listening as it support 24bit-192khz format but it might end up being my main phone. Well I love this phone and I wish Sony would make similar size phones again in their future releases.

This is an extremely powerful phone on paper (even for 2020 standards). That's why it was a real deep disappointment when I bought it in mid 2018 - the camera is average, zooming on photos was extremely slow (2-10 seconds) and the Bluetooth audio signal would drop even from 30 cm distance from my headset. On top of that, the ringtone was pretty quiet, so I would miss calls on a busy street or at the food court.

Even though the menus were silky smooth, and apps + internet pages were loading blazing fast, I still returned it, because I listen to bluetooth music and I expected the photos gallery app to perform top notch given the sheer raw power this device has.

Best phone i ever had. I dont understand why we are in year 2020 and compact phones is out. I think people is little bit laborers of industry. Bigger phones with more weight is better ? No, because you may choose size. But actually you havent so much to choose from different phone sizes, only iPhone SE 20 but if Apple dont copy 6,7,8 in design and made phone between older SE and almost bezel free design of X or 11, it can looks more futuristic. I want something between this phone and Xperia 5. Best hardware, 21:9 display and small handy with small bezels. XZ2 compact was good but more weight and that design like egg. I changed from XZ2c to XZ1c mostly for that black matte design and better handling. SD835 is still beast and without lags.

i have been using this phone for a while now, have had no problems so far. the bezels are actually smaller when you meet the phone in person and the black variant render them unnoticeable. the screen resolution is pretty fine (both for battery and quality).
and now for the software, i don't really mind it not getting Android 10.0, actually even though it's on Android 9.0, i would be fine with it being on Android 8.0 because this is Android and it does not matter, most applications target the minimum version Android 5.0+ (and they will keep on doing this a for a couple more years), some even target Android 4.4. so i doubt anyone cares about the new (few) features in Android 10, at least i don't.

I love this phone and would love to buy it, but I see what is happening at sony, i also read the support to this phone has been discontinued by the mother house so no android 10 will come to it... I don't understand how can people say it's ok to buy it, I must ignore something or they must be ok to buy something and throw it away after a few years. I don't wanna buy to consume Earth like Apple to any other company makes happen instead.

You can try Sharp Aquos R2 Compact , i have it both ( Sony xz1 Compact and Sharp ) in same time , i can tell you , the best Compact Phone now iss Sharp R2 Compact ( Snapdragon 845 ) . All the Best

My gf bought this one coming from Z1C and X Compact. She is really happy as an average consumer. Camera is OK, battery life standard. The most prominent features is the smaller form factor and its ruggedness. It is a real gem! Only some dents and songs, bit holds up fairly well!

Due to age, it is not avaible in my country no longer. Too bad. This is a keeper

I've had this phone for 26 months now and absolutely no problems or complaints whatsoever. It has fallen many times and yet still no broken screen or damage to the phone, I even lost it at the beach once for about 30 minutes while recording a video (a wave caught me off-guard). Whoa! That footage was fun to watch afterwards! To this day I've never owned a Samsung smartphone nor do I ever think I will. Will definitely recommend this device to anyone!
