I'm really excited to see this rumoured release. Only recently read claims that Sony were ditching high end compact devices so, as a loyal xperia compact purchaser, was left feeling disowned by Sony.
However, I don't see the point of including a full hd screen. With a screen this size (4.6) the difference in appearance between 720 and 1080 would be negligible. Also, the higher demanding screen resolution would have a negative effect on the usually excellent battery performance which is one of the compact ranges main selling points (for me at least).

hanifbhutto, 17 Aug 2017Perfect size. Father of xperia Ray. I will do buy. I'd prefer 4.8. Somewhere 132 mm tall with smaller top and bottom bezels. 126 mm tall is a bit small.

S... moreOled display sucks anyway, with screen burn ins and the pixels die overtime, who's the hell would pay $600 on a Samsung phone to see their screen deteriorate overtime. When using your phone more often and it dies faster, brighter display and white screen are the biggest factors that's behind the burn in issues and I don't think IPS display have any problems, they're just better and reliable than Oled displays.

There are tradeoffs in OLED vs LCD, but your opinion "Lol Sony doesn't use OLED display and never will because of how unreliable it is compared to IPS which last forever." may need reviewed.

I just worry that this will come with thicker bezels (thus lower screen to body ratio), lower battery capacity and screen resolution (expected and somewhat understandable), and also a less competent SoC compared to the non-compact version but will cost only $50 less. Then the manufacturer will complain that no one is buying compact phones anymore. But I would very much like to be proven wrong on the day this phone is made official.

2800 Mah is too small for a compact device, let's not forget the phone will be bulky and should have more battery life at least 3200 Mah would be adequate.
