marko97sx, 27 Feb 2018For a design. The looks do NOT define a bad phone. Then Sam... more"The looks do NOT define a bad phone". Haven't you look at the bulge? Predecessor sony smartphones do not have this bump. Now that it has bump in it. You can already imagine that it is a look of a battery ready to explode.
Second. The history of the sony's back. Tells that the camera and the other sensors are located at the top-left of the unit. Just like the XZ premium. Moving the camera at the middle of the bulge signifies the problem. If you drop the unit. And the impact was at the back of the unit. Won't that camera lens break?
Third, Fingerprint scanner on most sony devices is always on the side of the unit. This one is located at the back and its at the middle of the bump. So unlocking the unit via Fingerprint scanner requires the user to look at the back of the unit in order to place their finger well. This is a complete design flaw. How come they didn't come up with fingerprint scanner under the display like what the vivo did?
Fourth, the sony logo can be moved at the back of the unit. And make room for a bigger screen to body ratio. How come they didn't do it?
Fifth, Almost all people prefer dual camera than a single camera. Before the end of sony MWC, they tease us with a dual cam IC. So how come they didn't place that on a sony special smartphone announcement?
Six, Other major smartphone companies are now offering with 128GB or even higher internal storages. How come sony is still stuck on 64GB even on 2018? 64GB of internal storage is soo 2010. And it won't even last for a month of usage!
Seventh, on these past few months. Sony has teased us with micro-led displays. So how come they cannot use this on a smartphone? But still uses an IPS LCD display?

AnonD-737360, 27 Feb 2018Ram has nothing to do with os os battery drain ascthat batt... moreThen can you explain why the Android OS takes 1GB of ram, android system takes atleast 180MB of ram. google play service at 175mb, system ui at 113mb?
So if you think that running apps or games that would eat a lot of memory in a single app. How much memory do you think that it will eat if you are doing splitscreen?

They don't have a radio. It would be nice if they had DAB radio.
Internet radio is constant stutter....

"To move to a wireless future. Sony included wireless charging, and if you prefer headphones, you can use your favourite analog headphones with the included adapter "
I need a 3.5mm jack to listen to my music in the car.

Nearly 200 g !!
And the design reminds me of my old Samsung S3 from 2011 !
Was hoping for a bezel-less design. Such disappointment, do they really cannot make better than that...

Who ever is incharge of the mobile division of Sony is clearly committing internal sabotage to the company.

Looks like they've lost volume buttons finger print sensor on the power button and opted for a skinny tall display like all other phones on the market. Loads of people love to slag Sony off for big bezels(smaller than the pixel), gimmicky slow mo camera(S9) and the likes but they're actually really good phones. Strong, fast, reliable and waterproof. They've been pressured by critics and the media to conform and they finally have. Now it's like all other phones, why the **ck should I buy one?

Very much disappointed by Sony. Such hideous design by Sony was not expected. I was expecting a groundbreaking design by Sony in the bezel less market, and they have given such heavy phone with those bezels still around that phone. The classy old look was still better than this. With S9 expected to launch next month who's gonna buy this device.

Sony included wireless charging, and if you prefer headphones, you can use your favourite analog headphones with the included adapter (in which you can listen to music AND charge your phone at the same time). It's not 2016 to complain about the removal of the headphone jack, every company is going to remove it, yes, even Samsung and LG. So just deal with it.

18:9? Ok. No jack? Ouch! Is that the price we have to pay for Sony to co-develop Oreo? Why are we forced to use Bluetooth? Why are we forced to use data to listen to radio? Why, Sony? Why?

AnonD-481725, 27 Feb 2018Folks, more ram isn't necessarily better, it is about suffi... moreMaybe you find it sufficienct already but 6 GB + excellent efficiency from Sony sounds better to my ears yet doesn't seem to sound better to you at all. It's for future proofing to anyway. But I guess my prayers just got heard coz Asian countries will be getting 6GB option. Lucky me! And no, I don't complain about thickness so I'm not that guy you were talking about.

Anonymous, 26 Feb 2018No. practically it's YES man, I have used a Lumia 920 whose camera was positioned near middle of the back, and I knew how good it was. you see through the middle of the display and the lens is at the corner, and it's awful to focus. you will realise it when you take a macro. if you attempt to take a macro with a IPhone your first attempt will fail for sure!
