And in any case if you put the phone in an extremely hot environment, the battery WILL get damaged. Regardless if it's an S9, XZ2, etc.

Just so you know, LCDs also have a range of temperature where it can operate. If it exceeds that the display will get damaged.

      Not about heat exposure to a phone. And glue in not a Isolator.

      Cameras, dashcams, phones, any electrical gear can be damaged if left on a cars dash board in summer with the windows closed. Thats just commen sense. Would you leave a child inside a car in those extreme conditions ?

      I will return to the original topic now.

      Evidence that glue on a battery inside a phone is a design fault. Is that clear enough ?

        Anonymous, 02 Jun 2018The Sony battery is glued to the metal plate holder and the... moreYou really don't watch the video links carefully, the XZ2 battery is very easy to pick up from the phone because it doesn't glued in the phone, while S9 is difficult because Samsung glued the battery inside the phone.

        As you can see the battery remove must use the heat gun to heat up the battery from the front Oled screen (Oled is thinner hardware, it is less durable compared to thicker LCD display) and require to remove the bottom modules and the wireless charging coil as a extra layers covered on the battery.

        Now, I find the battery repair for XZ2, first of all you can see the sturdy build of the thicker LCD display and underneath the LCD display has a Screen Shield! To remove the battery just have to disassembly the (thicker) LCD display and also Screen shield, then take out the battery, repair the battery out side the phone and replace a new battery on the battery's plate then put back to the battery room, it is much better way to replace a battery.

C... moreInside of a car behind front glass can get up to 90 degrees celsius fella, your phone is same, glass covered box with internals, metal closing even worse, internals will almost meltl if you leave it in the sun, especially nonconductive isolators like glue.
          Batteries get damaged even by heatup from wireless charging, let alone extended exposure to the sun...

          I seriously cant believe I am even explaining this to anyone.

          You dont believe me. Fine. Either google it yourself or try it yourself. You seem quite confident about it, so test it. What is the worry?

            Screens would easily crack during this process on sony XZ2. Thats a sign of a cheap and badly designed mobile phone..

              perfect phone and was going to have it but i need radio which sony was always good for, now no one has radio built in so i might as well have any make of phone. :(sad time no radio is a deal breaker for me its was so handy.

                And you reply about lying on the beach on a hot day. FYI, it takes over 80C for anything like that to occur in a mobile phone and certainly no damage would occur on a beach.. Google it and learn, then talk some sensibility to me.

                  You fall asleep at the beach, your glued component phone beside you catches 30 min of direct sun heat. It becomes so hot that glue inside melts, heat foam decreases in volume, your components and flexes start to deattach, plastic cover on flexes melts causing short circuitry all over, oled screen organics dissapate causing screen burn. your phone is dead.

                  Enjoy your glued lighter top spec phone.

                    We want proof that glue on a battery is bad. How is it chemically affected ? Is it dangerous ?

                    Show us some chemical reports, Engineers reports ? Do you have any real evidence ? Do you understand ? No more heresay from you. Please demostrate and prove that glue on a battery is bad. Some scientific evidence to prove your complaint.

                      this is the main reason why sony's service center is the worst. because their technicians afraid to crack your screen.

                        when u open xz2, u have to apply heatgun "on the screen" and lift it. so you have more probability to crack your fragile screen during the process. screen replacement costs a lot of money dude, almost half the price of new phone.

                        when u open samsung, u have to apply heatgun "on the back cover" and lift it. if u crack it, no problem. because the back cover is cheap.
                        fyi if u go to samsung service center to replace your battery, their technicians would also replace the back cover (not only the battery).
                        and there are also "fake back covers" which are sold very cheap in ebay, aliexpress, etc. so you can replace it by yourself if you dont want to go to the service center.

Go to your Sony video at about 3 minutes. Sony battery is glued to metal plate. Battery is held upside down and doesn't fall, as its glued to metal plate holder. Sony uses glue to hold its battery to the metal plate holder.

                            It show the glued/adhesive battery need to heat up then pry it up for remove the battery, it could have change to damage the neighbours parts inside the phone!

                            Frankly, S9 is less durable because it save the inner space of the phone so it doesn't come with Screen Shield, as you can see in this video:

All current brand flagship phones can record and play back 4K videos on a 4K mobile VR headset. Sony is not the best at this.

                              Because, Sony doesn't make any mobile VR headsets.
                              Sony doesn't have a VR store.
                              Sony doesn't have VR software.
                              Sony users need other brands technology and expertise for VR.

                              A 4K display is totally useless on a small 6inch mobile phone screen. As the human eye is unable to see the difference between 1K and 4K.

                              A large TV running 4K is great to view 4K movies.

                                Ever watched video content on mobile VR? Atm It doesnt come better than on this 4k HDR screen.
                                Screen is also intelligent and shifts to resolution of content resolution itself, so if FHD app or game, shifts to fhd res, if 2k or 4k video, shifts to 4k.
                                Of course it records 4k video, and even true 10bit hdr at it.

                                  4k is useless on this device. For 3540mAh Battery on this device 4k will take up so much battery. This should've at least had 4k mAh+, then it would've made a reason to have a 4k display on it. There's no need to have a 4k display on a Super AMOLED Display, cause it looks good enough and sharp on a 2k AMOLED Display, even when viewing recorded 4k footage. Now I don't know if this camera can record in 4K,but if it can then cool, you can view that footage on 4k.If not then having a 4k display, but a camera that can not record 4k is totally useless imo. I'd rather have a camera that can record in a higher resolution than the displays resolution, than having a display resolution higher than the one the camera can record.
