Got mine a few weeks back. Not sure why its getting crap reviews, I think its superb, all the foibles of its predecessor the XZ Premium fixed. Buttry smooth operation, very fast, AWESOME camera especially in low light and a phenomenal screen. It maybe Sony;s best kept secret with only EE in the UK currently offering it on contract, but its well worth getting, especially if you’re on EE and perhaps more so if you’re looking to upgrade from an older Z5 Prermium.

I got one. Yes it little heavy and big screen but I don't care. Important for me is big battery and clear picture even at night. Music is also quite nice. I can use headphone through cable included in box.

Darryl Banks, 15 Nov 2018So what exactly is premium about this bezel poc?A 4K screen that makes your jaw drop, the ability to see in the dark thanks to the double camera implementation which transform the night to day so night pictures and videos come out amazing plus the details in the daytime pictures look way better than the mate20pro and p20pros 40MP sensor which is a feat by itself which left my cousin speechless because he thought his camera was better but i beat it in every comparison, front facing double speakers which sound loud af and no joke there these speakers are the loudest i ever heard in a phone and the audio quality is great, phone themes by default without using any launchers which look great and great performance with no hiccups. This phone is more than i wanted, so glad i got this instead of the S9+ (i had the S8 before this). Don't get me wrong this phone is heavy and bulky/square when compared to these recent long and slim phones and i love that but a casual user will have problems with its shape so try it out before buying it.

alienufoweird, 31 Oct 2018Been playing with it for a couple of hours and this phone i... moreYou're not alone with the 16:9 aspect ratio display, most of the time I still prefer it more than 18:9 aspect ratio, because it's widely supported no matter what app you're using. With 16:9, u can watch videos without having big chunky black bars; u get to fill up all the space of your screen without the need to zoom in (aka cropping). Though, one downside in my own opinion is that the bigger smartphones are harder to hold. I have no problems holding onto my older Z and X series high-end flagships since they're 5.2" anyway, but when it comes to holding onto my XPERIA Z5 PREMIUM, XPERIA XZ PREMIUM or XPERIA XZ2 PREMIUM, things get a little uncomfortable. It definitely feels better holding onto my XPERIA XZ2 PREMIUM as compared to my previous two, but it's still feels uncomfortable, now this is where a 18:9 aspect ratio display comes in thanks to its shorter width

Already two weeks with the device. So far so good👍
Can't denied I'm a Sony fans from my last device Z2 three years back then. My Z2 are still in good condition just lacked of internal storage for application so I decided to switch to XZ2P. The main reason I bought XZ2P is the camera performance.

A strange thing about this device which I cannot wrap my head around is when you activate the main camera the camera itself makes a white noise continuously while it's active. I'm thinking maybe it's the EIS making that noise but if someone can explain it clearly it would help because it doesn't make any sense for that noise to exist. Oh and for those who want to switch the 3 bottom buttons layout (back o the left side) the only way I found to do it is from developer options¬Force RTL layout but it changes everything backwards/on the opposite side which I kinda like but to someone it might be confusing.

Been playing with it for a couple of hours and this phone is what I was missing with all these slim bezesless designs finally something with a little oomph to it. I like my devices strong and sturdy and this phone delivers while offering great thermals and a breathtaking 4K HDR display. Maybe I'm one of the few that prefers the 16:9 aspect ratio with video cutouts up and down instead of on the sides or having to zoom in to see all screen in a phone but to each its own. As for the weight I kinda like it because I can feel the phone in my pocket and it also feels like a very sturdy device.
