One nation one design language...

You can see the Samsung S8 similar to LG G6, curve screen etc...all from Korea.

Then the Xiaomi Mi6 similar to Huawei Honor 9 glossy back and dual cams etc...these are the design language from China.

The Japan design from Sharp Aqua S2 and Panasonic P55 Max are different, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium design is the most unique one.

I love that it's based on your real usage rather than a bunch of quotes about benchmarks and other user remarks. I also was using the Galaxy Note 4 along with several other devices (Huawei: P8 Max, Honor 8; HTC A9 & iPhone 6 plus). All these devices work fine but I really love the XZP for the reasons you mention - it's the latest and greatest and so very fast! I have also experienced the glitches with 3rd party apps; mostly games exiting after a level is complete but I think that's due to Nougat's API updates and the 3rd party devs need to fix their bugs. The camera is great and I love taking photos with it. I have the US version that excludes the fingerprint sensor so I can't comment on that. I use other means of unlocking that work extremely well (proximity of wearables & location). Case choices are limited. The official Sony flip case is one that I want but is still quite pricey. I'm using a cool flip case by Roxfit "Pro Touch Folio Case" that lets you use the device while the cover is closed. I'm also using a flexible screen protector since, as you mentioned, the curved glass is problematic for the glass protectors out there. Overall, this is a great phone and I also would purchase it again!

        Hi, is me again after more than 1 month of owning XZP.

        Let me share some of my experience.
        Pro: it is extremely fast. coming from galaxy note 4 I can notice the leap of the performance speed.
        : Camera is excellent, night time shooting can tune with manual mode and if you hold steady you can get a great picture. Reduce the MP to 12 in taking night photo can help reduce the grains. Front camera is one of the best with palm detection. But I rarely take selfie.
        : Battery life is excellent. Heavy usage can last me a day although I didn't even start with 100% battery life. I usually charge my phone up till 80 + % because I dont want to stress the battery. Love the qnovo technology. (they have 19 patents on it and even their tech is applied on electric car) Qnovo did reduce the speed of the charging but they do so to prevent heating of your battery and reducing the battery life. I even use a power bank with rated 1A output to charge my phone to prolong the phone battery life. I can't afford to change a flagship every year.
        : Display is great, you can choose any of the 3 option for your display. Personally I prefer super vivid mode since I am coming from note 4. You can try the mod to change the display to always 4k upscaling there are few videos on youtube to teach you how but I kept my phone as it is.
        : First 4k phone that can play 4k youtube. The speaker is not really that quiet as people claim. The clarity is great as well. Love the headphone jack.
        : basic function like calling, sms, mobile data, hotspot, vpn, works fine. This phone works under 4g+. Manage to get 108mbps using this phone.
        : sd card slot which I plan to put a 256gb samsung micro sd to it. Transfer speed from my phone to my 64gb samsung pro sd card is fast. Less than 2 minutes to transfer 1.5gb file.
        : usb type C, fast file transfering again and also the storage is ufs 2.1.
        : bezel.. for me bezel is a plus point.. the phone is more solid and is good to hold without touching the display. plus you get front facing stereo speaker. unlike my note 4, i can't differentiate the sound coming from left or right speaker.
        : Near stock andoird experience. Lots of theme and wallpaper provided by Sony too.
        Now for the downside, but if I given another chance I will still purchase this phone
        :Phone is like a fingerprint magnet, hard to find a case (using Ringke clear case) which is even more fingerprint prone.
        : Display is too reflective. I think this is the disadvantages of full glass body display.
        : Sometimes the apps glitches. But I think that is the problem with third party apps.
        : Screen sensitivity is too low and I have to use glove mode.
        : Finger print sensor on the other hand is too sensitive. Plus I have sweaty fingers. With the case on it is even harder to unlock my phone.
        : Since the display curved down on the edge, my tampered glass edge is floating.
        : Too little accessory for the phone.

        Overall I am satisfy with the phone and I got it with a very cheap price . ~550 USD. Just my 2 cents. Cheers.

                      Although Sony Xperia XZ Premium still have some flaws that won't be fix near times , IMHO ,i still love this phone very much . That's including with those amazingly specs , outstanding camera features (960fps@720p , Predictive Capture) , iconic and unique design , as well great support update . And remember people , it's back to your taste on phone you like incase you don't like XZP .

XZ Premium is a bulky phone in the hand with... moreThe brand new IMX400 19MP Motion Eye camera sensor even though it is the step down in the resolution from the IMX300 23MP it have a boost in the number of pixels, hence it helps to sharpen the image more even if they lower down the MP. U should know that battery life is based on how often u use right? If u don't use it that much I wouldn't see a problem with the battery life. I got a XPERIA XZ and yes it have smaller battery, I started switching on the smartphone at 7am and used moderately till 9pm, it left 23% (I did play some games for some period of time). Their smartphone ain't ugly to be honest, yeah yeah I know some hated the bezels, but it gave people a impression of a solid smartphone. Their price is counted good already, around GALAXY S8's price. I wouldn't complain for that kind of price even though it is kind of expensive, since it is the same as GALAXY S8.

                            Screen is great, adaptable resolution

                            Perfomance speed is the best, no lag

                            Battery life is great

                            Photo quality daylight and dusk is great, low light is good but it uses manual and tripot is the best, i have no issue or i cant see them

                            No overheating, no explode

                            4k recording with no limition duration and no over heating

                            It has super slowmotion 960fps

                            It has EIS for video resolution back and front, it is very stable maybe the best

                            The internet is the fastest

                            I like the bezel, i can hold it free while i play a game not at the screen, when it drop to the ground, the bezel sometime save the screen

                            Design is depend on your taste

                                Xperia XZ premium phones with bad camera lenses can be exchanged for production units with better lenses or Sony can voluntarily recall them. Moustache distortion in a camera lens is really difficult to correct in post-processing. You will need to copy affected photos to a PC with photoediting software that can correct for the specific signature of the lens distortion since android apps if there are any, are not able to correct for complex moustache distortions. The good thing about this distortion though is that it won't be very noticeable unless your subject has lots of straight lines/edges (example: architecture, frames, paintings, things having regular geometric figures). Sony can release a software update so that the moustache lens distortion can be corrected in camera. However, it may create distortion problems in units with good lenses/lower distortions so I doubt releasing a software update is what Sony will do. I suggest to just return or have the phone replaced if it is affected especially since XZP is quite expensive.

Even there is a slightly distortion it is normal for wide angle lens. Why you want to trolling just like you having the distortion issue?

None of this would be an issue IF Sony acknowledge the fault but they're not.

                                        I am starting to think this is a hardware issue with the lens because if people like yourself are saying they're not seeing this fault then that means there must be good and bad batches in the wild.

                                        That could potentially be good news for users as if they swap out enough units they'll eventually get a good one.
