          FYI, this slightly distortion is normal and fairly common, it is not an issue!
          Most of the wider angle camera must have slightly distortion on the frame edge but it wouldn't affect the whole picture taken. Example, you take group selfie, the image captured people stand near the frame edge will show little bit bigger face and people looks fatter, will you mind it? If yes than you can not use any selfie photography, don't tell me you don't take any selfie in your whole life. When you capture a blueprint most of the wider angle camera will have same results, will you capture blueprint mostly for your whole life? it is very slightly distortion on frame edge not a disaster, it is normal in camera industry.

            I am not using this one (i am using the Sony xperia XA1) because is too expensive but i have seen this one in local stores .Simply is an amazing phone just SONY!

The most common lens distortions are 'barrel distortion' found in wide angle lenses and 'pincushion distortion' found in telephoto lenses. 'Moustache distortion' is the most difficult to correct in postprocessing software.

                      Second, if you indeed own the device and dont like the waves, use varranty return policy and go exchange it for a new unit, of which ever device it may be that shot this picture.

Have you checked the images on the official Sony forum thread? I don't know if they have what you're looking for. I personally checked 2 handsets in my local O2 store and they both had quite noticable wavy distortion.

It maybe edited by any software we don't know? why it doesn't have any details information for the image, even I download the image for checking, nothing Exif can found. Could you upload the image to GooglePlus, I can check it there, because I worry the trolls/competitors will edit the image and trolling for this issue, if you really have the distortion image why you don't dare post it on GooglePlus, so people can check the Exif information.

All they want is the performace they'd expect from a $700 phone that makes bold claims about the quality of it's camera. If it wasn't an issue, why would they be saying it is and swapping out handsets to try and get one without the fault?

I appreciate that other users like yourself aren't reporting this so it's either that they aren't noticing it or it's a faulty batch, which would suggest a hardware fault.
