Only Sony XZs and XZPs have deformation problems. These two phones have the same camera module.

there is sth called a return policy under varranty if sth is wrong with a device, like a defect lens, not working modem, nonfuctional wireless charge, or DAC chip, or microphone, or lcd light bleed, or red tint screen, etc...
Lots of mobile units get returned for these things alike, from all manufacturers...
Dont see why only Sony should inform of this possibilty, as none other do. it is covered under varranty.

Just like people take pictures on a blueprint/geometric shapes, the slightly tilt/change the distance between the camera and the objects, then the image captured will show the straight lines looks curve/bend little some. But that isn't problem, unless the people don't know what is Perspective, I know because I have capture blueprint before. Most of the wider angle camera lens will have same results.

While people watching 5.5 inch 4K smartphone with 250mm to 300mm distance. That's really great, don't you see the scaling is quite match to the viewing distance.

I have watched on YouTube all camera comparisons of the xzp, none of them show any distortion issues, not even any reviewer complained, not even in the comments someone complained.

4k hdr is from vr gaming and now got so many phone can take 4k video recording,but no so many people got 4k screen at home,sony doing best screen,compare with 18:9 screen this is more better,but if can got 21:9 4k hdr screen is more good

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Barrel distortion is caused by wide angle lenses. The XZP suffers from wavey lines throughout the image. No other smartphone camera has this issue. The fact you can't detect them does not mean the issue isn't real.

Guess you should get a 2011 flag phone if you are bothered with distortions.

So, according to your logic, then Sony is twice as stupid as Samsung for making such a big gap between 1080p and 4k. Plus, Sony doesn't even make a mobile vr headset ! Maybe Sony owners could modify a Samsung mobile vr headet since Sony doesn't have a mobile vr headset for its gimmick 4k screen.

Anonymous, 26 Jul 2017Its quite simple. The human eye cannot see the difference b... moreA 50 inch 4K UHD TV has about 88ppi and if look at it from average distance most people hold their phone you can clearly see the pixel unless you have really bad eyesight.
According Dr. Optoglass if a healthy adult brings any display screen or printed paper or whatever 4 inches (100 mm) from his or her face, the maximum resolution he/she can see at is 2190 ppi/dpi.
But the legally accepted norm of 20/20 vision only asks for 876 ppi/dpi at 4 inches!
that's why many people get screen door effect from VR headset with lower resolution.
If the average reading/viewing distance is 1 foot (12 inches = 305 mm), p @0.4 arc minute is 35.5 microns or about 720 ppi/dpi. p @1 arc minute is 89 microns or about 300 dpi/ppi. This is why magazines are printed at 300 dpi – it’s good enough for most people. Fine art printers aim for 720, and that’s the best it need be. Very few people stick their heads closer than 1 foot away from a painting or photograph.
So actually the 5.5 inch UHD display on XZ Premium has the perfect size and resolution especialy if you using it with google card board or something like that and when Sony finally using Full RGB OLED/Cledis (Crystal LED) it will be perfect device for Google Day Dream VR.

I've been impressed with the battery life. Problem nowadays is that people are obsessed with the numbers. They want MOAR mAh, but they underestimate the power of software optimisation that's conducive to a good battery. I've easily got two days out of this phone with some light web browsing, watching a few videos, etc. I would imagine it stands up to intensive use.

The human eye cannot see the difference b... moreSo the people can't see a deference between 2k and 4k but they also can't see the difference between 1080p and 2k, the difference between 1080p and 2k is half the difference between 2k and 4k, actually, the 2k is the gimmick here as usual from Samsung, it doesn't make any deference from FHD in real life usage, and its not good enough for VR, so what is it used for, only battery drainer, while making a 4k screen that works only at 4k contents and FHD at none 4k contents is a smart move done by only Sony.
The 4k display of the xzp is proven by many people it doesn't drain the battery even if it is adjusted to work 4k on time proven on YouTube.
