If not for the big bezels of the Xperia XZ premium, It would blow every smartphone this quarter release as it has amazing specs as a smartphone. the only thing I like about the new s8 is it's screen by the way, the rest I go for XZP. God Bless!

This camera may be good at taking videos, and it is also good that they use such a big sensor since Xperia Z1, and I also appreciate that they finally started to shave off some megapixels so that each individual pixel is bigger and the picture quality is higher, but why does it still have a f/2.0 aperture? Even iPhone 7 has been evolving and has now a superior aperture. Or maybe it isn't official yet and GSMArena just put a number, which I really hope.

The battery is too small. Sony so stupid putting 4K screen and only 3230mah battery. I will never buy! No wireless charging. No fingerprint sensor for US market too. Worst decision ever by Sony. The bezel look ugly. This phone will be obsolete by the time its released. Overpriced crap.

But yeah at least half I think would be good. Bezels in sony compact phones are pretty small and still maintain the front facing speakers.
maybe some new sony innovation for even better design is needed here. I hope they have smoething up their sleeves at IFA>
s8 screen is looking stellar though. I really wonder how the XZP is gonna compete with the s8.

Bezels should be shaved off by max half, somehow, but not on cost of camera bumps or front speakers, certainly not as much as on these lgs and galaxies.... thats too much for comfort and ease of use.

i have sony phones,i had lg,i used zte for short period,i used frends iphone,i tried 100 time cheap phones in stores,i tried croatia brand noa,they allso make cheap phones and xperias,galaxys etc cost more with reason,they are more expensive but they are better,i see the difference between zte and xperia ,if you dont well idk what i should say
people have to understand why something cost a lot,and every company wants to make money,that how it is

And nothing wrong with S8 selling 10 folds more (tho I believe it wont), Sammy is a hipster trendy brand. And that just means owning a Premium Sony device kinda feels... 10 folds more unique.

Includi... moreI agree for the most part. But Sammys acquisition of harman does mean a serious deal for its audio capabilities esepcially now since it has partnered with AKG a well known brand among audiphiles it might actually pose a threat sound wise.
Its true not much new to this phone except for its design, which many people will most likely buy over the xz premium sadly. Its just how it is has too much bezel. only 10 percent of people will pick xz p over s8.

Even the new software is... more They upped selfie cam to 8 mpx and added autofocus (XZ has 13 mpx, autofocus, 5axis stabilisation on that thing), iris scanner(another gimmick doing same as fp scanner), moved fp scanner back by the camera which is utterly bad design choice ...
retained same mono speaker (Xperias dual front surround since ages now), and same back camera with just added multiframe (same thing on my X Performance since year ago, XZ Prem all new more capable camera), and same or even lower size batteries.. .
Added a bigger screen with hdr (one from not7) but with unconventional aspect ratio that will ruin batterylife (XZ has 4k hdr for even better VR and media)
And renamed google assistent to some Bixby.
Only new thing in that phone is UFS card slot capability, but none to buy and try out yet....
And asking 50€ more than Premium for plain S8, and 150€ more for bigger screen one....
Yes it ll sell more than Premium without a doubt, but why exactly... is beyond me.
