Since 18:9 is simple to do.

im not sure about how to implement new screen resolution, as i have never done it.
my last assignment was to implement a new device that is completely not supported by the android os. and it wasn't an easy task. i have to modify many parts of the source codes, from the lowest part of it ( had to modify the device tree in the kernel) to the highest part of it (had to make new/custom android java API to make "Regular developers" able to control the device).
Regular developers are those who create the user interface, or the apk apps in playstore. their task is to create application utilizing my new API.
my point is: adding support for new device can become a huge task. not just to develop it, but also to test it

For your information, the blindshot from your mentions is an useless gimmick because you don't know what is going to shot in the frame, it is just for kid or for funs, unlike the Xperia's Predictive Capture it capture the image even before shutter pressed because the user see the image and stacked Dram restore the images before the shutter, it restore the missed moments and now it can also detect Predictive Capture (Motion/Smile).

My question is, if you have all the software set at 1080p(16:9), and you need to build a software for bezelles phone with fhd+ screen(18:9), How difficult is it? It mean we need to tweak everything,(launcher, telepony, gallery music etc) to fit the resolution, right?.
Thats why sony still dont out bezelless phone, we know they already have 18:9 screen. And an exec said they will go bezelless this year but till now they still dont get it done.

ldac: useless. only sony's speakers use this. most other manufacturers prefer aptx and aptxhd. the reason why sony give this tech to oreo is just for busines reason. they want to push their proprietary codecs to all people, so headphone manufacturers will also implement ldac. sony will earn money from these manufacturers implementation (because all ldac-capable devices must be tested/certified by sony)
super slomo: useless because it only 0.18 second
3d scanning: what is the purpose of this? almost noboby in the world need it.

im a developer. and what you said is true.
we (developers) don't do everything from zero when we port software to other device.
we often just simply copy most of it to new device, make few adjustments, then test it. and deliver it to customers. we do this to make our development process faster, so customers can ejoy it quickly.
if customers find bugs, we will fix it via OTA updates. And ofcourse we also convert those bug reports to our "test cases/scripts" so it will never happen again to our future software release.

This is fact. This phone lack useful tap to wake feature, mine desnt lack anything, and even better in waking up the phone with ofscreen gestures. It even can take pictures without waking up the screen with only single action, it called blindshot.
Now we can move forward, to another software features. Hardware later..

After updating my XZP to Oreo the shape of the home button changed into a cercle.

Offscreen gesture is lovely feature, thats help oppo and vivo to be in top 5 smartphone vendors.

1.Either lack of combo power/fp button. (two button step to get in)
2. Or extra fp scanner on the back.(need to pick up phone from surface to get in)
3. Or lack of extra always on fp scanner on the front ( I missed on that, if lacking again two step protocol:power button and fp scanner)
Sony has none of these situations.
Single press on side combo button and you are in.
Why would anyone prefer screen double tapping instead of that?
Plus, yes, from my experience if on, it on occassions wakes phone in the pocket by accident...

There is really no reasoning with these guys...
Fboys will always deny logic and superlate their favourites tech approach.
Just with newest always on fp scanner did others tech caught up to sonys combo power/scanner, so double tap to wake is not needed.
But it is again worse solution, as it is always on, and just as always on screen, is using too much battery resource unnecesarily, IMO.
Offscreen gestures for cam, music, light that require always on screen, waste serious amount of battery.
Sony has offscreen shutter button for instant camera, SmartConnect for instant music play when plugging in headphones, or bluetooth speakers, etc...
But those will not complain about 3/4 hr SoT with these feats on their phone even tho it has 3000+ Mah battery inside just to get those feats by always on option...
So again, they need 4000 maH phones to have same, and will bash Sony for 2700 maH battery that gives more SoT and gives same accesability for it (sans always on screen clock)

Probably the reason sony remove double tap to wake is because most of the users now use fingerprint. when you double tap to wake, u still need to again place ur thumb on the scanner to unlock. is like a double work, why not just press the power button and unlock your phone. If you just want to see any message or time, I agree double tap is useful. Or always on display. But double wake to tap also happen to cause alot of wrong tap inside your pants. Probably will get complain for low battery life later :p
