[deleted post]Sonyboys should use their brains to think, make consideration on where they live, maybe their place is cold, so the smartphone would never overheat. This overheating problem always happens to most sony flagships, since xperias have lower build quality. But meh, those sonyboys are very stubborn

But if the place is cold, they only reason why it overheat is because they stressed the CPU too much by recording for about 30min, every smartphone will definitely feel hot after recording for 30min, some like Sony will have precautions to tell u to stop recording or the CPU will definitely throttle. But if those people say it overheat after just a few minutes even in cold places, the only reason is because they are too dumb to realize that 1080p60fps heats up the smartphone more than 1080p30fps or 4K30fps. This shouldn't be happening for current smartphones already, since they have newer manufacturer process which means the CPU size is getting smaller and smaller, and when I say smaller it means that the amount of heat spread across the board is lesser in conclusion won't cause that much overheating problems. But if problems are still happening for those people for current smartphones, the only reason is what I said above. But meh, some are just haters coming here getting ready to bash Sony

Xperias are simply polite and smart enough to inform you that overheat is possible and that the some app in question will close to prevent shutdown, so you can actually continue using your phone, not wait till it cools and wakes from the dead...

Owning it 10 mnths now, not one single overheat message...
Guess it would have risen temp, if I shoot some continuous 40 min 60fps video or sth...
but who ever in sane mind does that? On any phone?
Is it even a realistic scenario? Or more like troll fantasies?
Longest I ever shot was 10 min 60 fps video.
My hands almost fell of holding the phone continuously for 10 min.
But I can guess who "shoots" imaginary videos for over half an hour of 4k or 60 fps...
those boring basher trolls who dont even own or use the device....
Their bashing is so circumstantial based, its hilarious.

shynn, 20 Dec 2017dont know about you all, but i am through with sony's phone... moreThermal activities of Sony smartphones been always normal or even better than some other smartphones in the same league, anyway, the last year heating issues been noticeable solved and this year it is totally solved, but i insist it is been normal like any other smartphone.

dont know about you all, but i am through with sony's phones. i own/used 2 sony phone - Z ultra and Z5 premium. yes, they are a little old now. these are the pros and cons i have with them.
pros
constant update which is good if the update itself have no problems
water-proofness is reliable
screen is good, sharpness and colour output
cons
heat heat heat! heat kills sony's phones
z5 premium starts to lag with the heat it produced
z5 premium lags/ not responsive, this is not due to heat, there is bug carried across updates. and i am not the only one having such problem
brightness is low
keyboard took few seconds to come out. even when i reset the phone
the heat,lags and buggy screen made me move away from sony

In my country VAT is 25%, so prices are about 20-25% more than on int. Market.

Regarding to the camera don't believe anything being said on internet, go to YouTube and search for camera comparisons for the xz premium or xz1 or xz1 compact since all share the same camera and see by yourself, it is probably not the best in lowlight but it is one of the best for sure.

Btw, holy price!! It is selling for 570$ in my country, if you are not so in need for a new smartphone i suggest you to wait a little bit because Sony is about to release new models at the beginning of the next year.

For lowlight its great in auto(12 mpx), excellent with manual, the best when stabilised.
If you are a no manual type, happy with the way OEM wants photos to look, look elsewhere...

This phone is $849 in Australia on sale so I’m tempted to switch from my iPhone! My question is how is the battery? And is the camera as bad as people say? I’ve heard it looks grainy , especially at night?
