Tann Hauser, 19 Oct 2017Cant wait for Oreo on my X Performance. Batterylife already... moreSaying of updates, I am not sure if people who is using XPERIA XZs like me will get to update to a newer version one version ahead of ANDROID OREO as the final big update, since it is like a slight refresh from my daily driver XPERIA XZ, with a new camera, more memory and a newer ANDROID version one version ahead of XPERIA XZ during its release. I doubt XPERIA XZ will get the next ANDROID version after ANDROID OREO, well I already have some Z series that is out of updates already; XPERIA Z1 XPERIA Z2 and XPERIA Z3, which shows 2 years later there will be no more updates, maybe there will still be Security Patch Updates, idk. But I am not sure if XPERIA XZs will get because it have the same processor that is from XPERIA XZ's year, so I have some doubts that Google will have some incompatibility again or something. Can u figure it out though Tann?

Nautica77, 18 Oct 2017So have all the updates fixed all the problems?? As in WiF... moreYup. WiFi and BT stability improved with .137 build. If persistant, turn SmartCleaner off, it does keep your phone clean and tidy, but usses more battery and clears system cache constantly so can produce slower multitasking and connectivity issues.

Sony's Xperia XZ Premium will receive the update to Android 8.0 Oreo in December. That's at least true for units sold in Japan, the company's home country, since that's where the information comes from. In other parts of the globe, the rollout may start sooner than that, or later. WOHOO YES!

This will improve what Sony has failed to do. Possibly for games, but sadly the screen performance will noticeably degrade, as Sony has been unable to solve this issue. and after many complaints Sony declared that they will focus on quality to improve it, lets contemplate for better mobile future.

This is quite strange as most other brands allow you to uninstall the factory bloatware.

AnonD-481725, 18 Oct 2017As usual poor references, your fake stories aren't related ... moreHere is some info for you from phonearena about Sony's ongoing camera distortion flaws.

"Users have started to complain and report a lens distortion issue with the new flagships.
Apparently, there's some trouble there. User posts on the official Sony Mobile forums as well as on XDA Developers show numerous pictures of test grids and other everyday objects that should appear straight. However, they do not. And the issue is not just around the edges of the photographs — there seems to be a concentric ripple effect going through the image with only the middle being perfectly straight and the other portions suffering some form of distortion.

This is unflattering to faces, as it can contribute to “big nose” or “egghead” effect and is definitely not ideal for capturing simple compositions where there isn't much going on to distract the brain.

Alas, the distortion seems to be here to stay for this generation of Sony flagships. Maybe it will be fixed with the next models ?"
